Editorial Reviews

Nancy Libbey Mills obviously knows that young readers have vivid and sometimes limitless imaginations. Indeed, those younger than 10 generally adore puns, off the wall word games and sparkling loopy images and she obliges them. Mills and the publisher are fortunate in their choice of artist Shan Wells to illustrate Hug a Bug. Executed in acrylic, ink and digital media, Wells' lively paintings are delightful and always amusing. --Charlie Langdon, Arts and Entertainment Editor, Durango Herald rhymes and clever word play, appeals to both the parent and child -- Mike Jackson, a dad and television producer, Spokane, WA ...individual creative vision. Good luck Nancy Mills --Judith Viorst, Author

First up, 'Hug a Bug' by Nancy Libbey Mills; Preschoolers will adore this little book about the joys of imagination. The illustrations by Shan Wells are fanciful enough to hold the attention of even the youngest reader. --Katy Sinclair, Daily Camera

About the Author

With eight children s books in print and having written the lyrics to a children s music CD, award winning author Nancy Libbey Mills has established a reputation kid lit. Her books are some of the smartest books written in the children s book genre. Children feel like they re being spoken to like adults and adults are reminded of being a kid. There s a sophistication and there are turns of phrases not usually found in children s stories. Her goal, when she started, was to write books that are as much fun for the reader as they are for the listener. With double entendres and homophones, Nancy s books bring giggles to booklovers over and over again. Mills grew up in Stockton and went on to Oregon State University, graduating with a Bachelor s Degree in Liberal Arts.

"Hug a Bug" is one of the most fun books our family reads on a nightly basis. Our children know the words by heart, and even our 18 month old says, "Bug!, Bug!," when it's time to read. There is a music CD that accompanies this book and "Never Eat Cabbage on Thursday." Jim Salestrom sets these catchy words to music. "Welcome to Garden Street" is is a great compliment to all the books from Nancy Libbey Mills. The illustrations are marvelous. You'll want to keep this for your children's children and give one to your friends' children.
