I'm so excited that these books have been republished. I've never been able to own a copy of either of these books but now after about 30 years you can own a New Book/A Book of Torture and Star in one volume. If you enjoy beat poetry these books are a must read. The richness of the writing and the vastly different ideas are a shining of example of the beat era. McClure's writing is clear, extremely provocative, and a delight to read. |
