5.0 out of 5 stars Great and fun projects October 27, 2011
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I have two nephews who are five and two and I purchased this book to make some creatures for them. (They are big into animals lately since I bought them a membership to the zoo.) I was tired of making afghans, scarves and hats so I decided to give this a try. I've made the snake and I've started the kangaroo on the cover. The snake was pretty easy (no legs or arms!) so that was what I started with. There are various animals: kangaroo, snake, raccoon, squirrel, giraffe, lion. There are some others that are listed in the book description. I really like it because it's something different that I can crochet.

If you're a beginner crocheter, you may have some difficulty at first because there is some decreasing and increasing, different color switching as well as assembly that may be unfamiliar to you. I don't think it's out of reach for beginners but it may be slow going at first.

One other thing that I especially liked was that the book gave two illustrations for several of the animals - one example made from the "fun" yarn like the furry stuff and one for the regular, sport-weight yarn. The animals are cute either way but it's nice to see the differences between the two yarns illustrated for you before you begin.

5.0 out of 5 stars Huggable December 2, 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I found these patterns excellent, but because of the double crochet, they are loose and you can see the stuffing. I don't like that so I have tightened them up and revised with some single crochet and they are great.

5.0 out of 5 stars So many cute animals January 8, 2012
By Miranda
Format:Paperback
I love this book. I have the kindle edition and it's easy to read and follow. I love this book so much because the animals are normal stuffed animal size (from 11-15 in.). Also you can probably just use a bigger hook if you want it bigger.
