Great for newborn,

We purchased two bags of newborn, 7th generation and Huggies pure & natural just to see which would be better before the baby arrived. Compared to 7th generation, Huggies P&N is softer, fit our 6lb baby better, and cord cut out is more accurate and spacious. The pull tabs are smaller to avoid skin contact (unlike 7th gen, which are pretty much full size) You can tell much more thoughts and experience went into Huggies' design. I guess this is the different between a pure diaper company vs "Generic Green" product company. From our experiences, both diapers absorbed well and have no leakage.
We also got some pampers swaddlers from our hospital. To be honest, they fit our LO the best. However, we had one leakage on them and we just can't stand the fragrance. We stacked them with 7th gen, and the next day, the 7th gen started to smell like pampers! That's how strong the stuff is! I sure don't want that on our newborn, 24x7! We still have an unopen pack sitting there for backup. I didn't give 5 stars because I think they could be cheaper. Two things are not necessary on the diapers and I believe they just add cost (probably passed down to customers) One is the organic cotton. They are used in outer shell only, which means they never touch baby's skin, so what's the point? I rather see Chlorine free than Organic cotton outer shell. The other is the Winnie the pooh characters. Cute but totally not necessary, they are "swaddle" out anyways, only time you see them is when you change diapers... and I'm sure Huggies pay tons of license fee to Disney. I rather see generic design like pampers or no design like 7th gen.... and pass the savings to customers instead of passing the cost.

Fantastic diapers,

I bought these after they came out because my son (now 13 months) had just outgrown swaddlers 2-3 and I've been hating the cruisers we're using. These diapers are great, they have no smell and are really soft to the touch. We have had no leaks whatsoever, they are so absorbent. The tabs and back are very stretchy, much more than pampers which is the big difference in terms of fit in my opinion. My son is tall but has a small but and these diapers fit way better than the pampers did (even the swaddlers which i loved) They are definitely 'premium' diapers though. They are about 34 cents each verse pampers which are 25 cents but I calculated that to cost us about 140 a year total and for no leaks and my babies comfort I'm going to use these until we have a problem. I wish huggies would come out with a gigantic box though, like 200 count or something but since they are new I'm sure it won't happen for awhile. I like that they are chlorine free and reduced dye and will biodegrade more than most diapers but I am certainly not oblivious to the fact that they are still disposable. We can't do cloth for various reasons and I have tried ones like seventh generation and they caused huge rashes. These huggies in particular don't have the little sticky beads like that pampers had either

Best Diapers for size 3 and up,

We started with Pampers Swaddlers Sensitive and really liked them. However, when your baby gets to size 3, you can no longer get that diaper and have different needs (more flexibility, less padding, etc...). We bought a small pack of every diaper we could find in size 3 and tried them all on our baby. We liked these diapers the best. In fact, if we had known about them before, we might have sued them from newborn on. They are just great. They are so much softer than the rest of the size 3 diapers (closer to the swaddlers, but maybe even softer). For some reason the rest of the diapers at this point start using this rough plastic-type material on either side of the absorbent padding. We liked how absorbent these are as well. We also liked that there were less dyes and that our baby didn't get a rash after wearing them. Best of all, we liked how they fit and that our baby didn't have any blowouts (which we unfortunately did experience a couple times with some of the other diapers - 7th Generation being the worst blowout we had ever seen).

These diapers are great, no leaking problems and all natural to boot! We've been using them since we brought our daughter home from the hospital and haven't really tried anything else. There was no need to. The little cut out for the umbilical cord was great too while she still had it. Kept it clean and dry, no problem.

Chlorine??,

Those are okay diapers. I usually get them when amazon does not deliver me the other brand in time through their subsciption agreemend. I sometimes run out of the diapers before amazon is scheduled to ship it. Huggies have been one of the brands that I buy as a life-saver. They are soft, yet with clorine. The cute bear on the front is something that my daughter likes; she tends to take the diaper off to see the bear closer thus supporting our potty training routine. The diapers have never leaked, the bottom also stays dry in comparison to the seventh generation ones. What bothers me is the clorine present in the diapers. The diapers do not usually give my little one a diaper rash, but it does happen occassionally. I don't now if it's because of chlorine or other factors. The "pure" Huggies have been the best of the Huggies brand overall with their cotton-like feeling and low-maintenance secure fit.

Like lot of people, I'm looking out for ways and products to aid the environment and be more green. I'm a first time mom and I wanted to find something a little more green for diaper for my newborn. I had ordered the new born size before I went into labor. After I came home from the hospital I started using this diaper..... the diapers were leaking too often. I was worried and switched to pampers dry.... he started to develop diaper rashes inspite of applying petrolatum during every diaper change. So I switched back to huggies pure and natural, his rashes started to reduce, but the leaking problem started. I didn't want to give up on this brand, because it was huggies, so I decided to give this another try, so I ordered size 1 (my son is a big baby... 8.3lbs at birth) and that did the trick. So the first time around it was not the brand but the size that caused the leakage. Now my son is happy without any rashes and wet diaper and so am I. Sometimes he goes on without a diaper change for about 5 to 6 hours and never has it leaked after the size upgrade. Now I've ordered size 2 and my son is 2 months old. So for people having leaking trouble, try a bigger size. One advice - I was told that a new born might go thro' about 10-12 diapers a day and I could use new born size for upto a month and half. So I enrolled in the amazon subscribe and save program (btw, it is great time and money saver and the best part is you get what you ordered at your door step in two days with Prime Shipping) and by the time I delivered, I had about 300 diapers on hand-a months supply. But I couldn't use more than a 50 before I had to upgrade to size 1. So wait to find out your child's size and then stock up.

Oh Huggies Pure and Natural, I so wanted to like you. Until an hour ago, when I changed my baby and she had pieces of transparent gel all over her bottom. They are sticky and difficult to remove.
So disappointed that it is happening with a diaper that is marketed as being "Pure and Natural". I do not want to any type of gel on my baby's bottom! I'm surprised there are not more reviews mentioning this problem.

The best diapers for babies with sensitive skin,
By
This review is from: Huggies Pure & Natural Diapers, Size 3, 52-Count (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)
At first, we only used Pampers on our son because they were so absorbent. But then, when he kept getting a rash every time we put Pampers on him, we tried several other diapers including:
Earth's Best--These were absorbent but also papery. Also, parents whose children have good allergies should beware. These diapers are made with corn and wheat, and our son is allergic to wheat. Seventh Generation--These didn't seem to cause a rash like Pampers and Earth's Best did, but they leaked a lot, especially at night, sometimes multiple times. The Huggies Pure and Naturals feel nice and soft and are pretty absorbent, although not as absorbent as Pampers, but our son doesn't get a rash, so we're sticking with these, unless we can find a more absorbent diaper. I do prefer the Pampers' sticky tabs to the Huggies' velcro, but once a baby gets older, it's not as big of a deal if the diaper leaks since the baby's waste is more solid. I think I would still try Pampers though for the newborn size.

I used Seventh Generation Size NB-2 diapers but when we started my son on the Size 3's, they had a rough tab that rubbed his legs almost raw within a day. I wanted to stick with the "pure and natural" so I've started using these.
Of course, as usual, the Huggies quality is great and my son's sensitive skin has had no problems with the diapers. I gave them only 4 stars because I don't believe they're truly as pure and natural as other earth-friendly brands. Also, they are quite expensive, but much more affordable using the amazon.com Subscribe and Save program-free shipping and a discount is unbeatable!

I recently switched to Huggies Pure & Natural because my youngest daughter had started to get diaper rashes that were just horrible;despite every effort to keep her little bottom dry (changing frequently, ointments, powders, etc.). I finally decided to try several other brands of diapers to see if I could get an improvement, and the only one that did the trick is Huggies Pure & Natural! One day, I ran out of Huggies diapers upstairs and I grabbed an alternate diaper, which mind you she was in for less than 1 1/2 hours, and what emerged on her bottom, I cried! It took two weeks to get rid of! Now, thanks to Amazon, I am able to keep us stocked up on our new favorite diaper and keep the costs down thanks to the Prime membership! We love these diapers!!!
