5.0 out of 5 stars Faithful Huggies Customer...two kids and counting August 3, 2006
Unit Count:126.0|Size Name:4
I have used a lot of diapers between my son and my daughter. I have tried many different brands, and I just love Huggies. I have never had any problems, and I feel they are good quality. The only time my kids ever leaked is when we use generic diapers or the Pampers baby dry (Pampers Cruisers are great, too!). I have always found that elastic waisted diapers work better and fit better, especially with mobile babies!

Little tip I learned: In my experience, if you don't unfold the elastic around the thigh before you put them on, the diapers will leak. It's not enough to just open them up and slap them on. When I started fully opening the diapers before putting them on, I stopped having a problem with leaks. (Of course, when you have a morning diaper that weighs a few pounds, it will leak for a different reason!!)

Also, I've seen a few reviews from parents who have stated that the Huggies bought online are of lower quality than what they have purchased in the stores. In my experience, I have never had this problem purchasing from Amazon, and I have never found this to be true. The Huggies I purchase from Amazon appear to be the same great Huggies I've always bought from my local grocery store, and local Walmart , and they react the same as any other "store purchased" diapers, with the exception that they arrive on my doorstep.

5.0 out of 5 stars Huggies vs Pampers September 9, 2005
Unit Count:144.0|Size Name:3
Ahh, the ultimate controversy. I feel like I've graduated from college to adult when the hot topic with my friends has changed from 'boxers vs briefs' to 'huggies vs pampers'.

We did stage our own version of the Pepsi Challenge, and purchased Huggies, Papers, Luvs and even some other random brand I found in our local grocery store. Huggies wins hands down. Luvs leaked all the time, and was even kind of scratchy. Pampers was nice and soft, but also leaked. For us, Huggies has never leaked. The elastic bands around the legs fit well, the diapers are soft enough to not bother my son. We've used Huggies from size NB up to 3 so far and have still preferred Huggies in each size range.

Within the Huggies line, I prefer the Ultra-trim (which I guess is being called something else now?) over the Huggies Supreme. The Supreme were extra padded and tended to bunch up. They didn't leak, but they just weren't as comfortable for my son's frenzied activity level.

As for fit, my son has always been small for his age (10th percentile in weight, 60th percentile in height), so I'm not sure if that makes any difference... maybe pampers works better for chunky kids? Which opens up another age old controversy "does size really matter"? But that's a conversation for another day.

1.0 out of 5 stars The "new surefit" surely leaks... April 17, 2013
Unit Count:192| Size Name:4|Amazon Verified Purchase
I've spent thousands of dollars as a faithful Huggies customer and mom of four, but after getting the size 4 "new" Snug and Fit Huggies, I think I'll shop around... Even with frequent changing, my 18-month-old is soaking through to his pants -- not around the edges, but through the diaper. When I change him, my hand gets damp from touching the outside of the diaper. Ick!

With the old Huggies, he was fine to sleep through the night, but with these he wakes in a puddle. Guess I'll have to start investing in overnight diapers...

Comparing the new diaper to an old (unused!) one I had in my car, they are significantly thinner, and the outer waterproof layer is thinner. They hold much less water, in a kitchen test.

I might as well just stick him in washable thick underwear, if I'm going to have to wash his pants every time I change a diaper anyway...

Hi Loving2Live - we've just read your review and are sorry to hear about the experience you and your 18-month old are having with our diapers. Our Snug & Dry Diapers with SureFit Design are a more flexible, less-bulky diaper that can absorb as much as a thicker diaper. We simply decreased the amount of the fluff padding and increased the absorbent particles that gel when wet to ensure the same Leak Lock® protection for up to 12 hours. The end result is a much more comfy, super absorbent diaper for your little one! Again, we apologize if this has not been your experience and are sorry for any inconveniences. Please contact us directly at http://www.huggies.com/en-US/contact-us - thanks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Diapers. Here's a little advice. August 28, 2005
Unit Count:126.0|Size Name:4
I like Huggies. I also like that I have figured out how to use them. First, you must make sure to "open" the diapers before you start to change your baby. The elastic is folded into the diaper and a gentle tug of your finger will flatten it out. Second, you must make sure that the elastic is not bent inward when you put the diaper on your baby. Follow these two rules and you shouldn't get many leaks. (You may be able to tell that these rules are based upon experience.) Good luck.

1.0 out of 5 stars Sad about the changes April 23, 2013
By Teddy
Unit Count:86| Size Name:3|Amazon Verified Purchase
We have been using the Huggies snug and dry for a while now, but this most recent box has been awful. I thought when we first got them I thought they felt different but I wasn't sure they really were until we started using them. Out and about my son soaked through his diaper and then pants which never happens for us. I figured we just waited too long. Then we opened up and found a bunch of the absorbent ball things on him. I was hoping it was just a rogue diaper. but he is leaking through occasionally now and had a blowout the next day. We are officially changing diaper brands and wanted to warn anyone else who is trying to decide.
I see I am not the only one with this issue with the new version.

Hi Teddy- we're sorry to hear you're disappointed in your recent purchase with our new Huggies Snug & Dry Diapers with SureFit Design. To provide a more flexible, less-bulky diaper, we decreased the amount of padding and increased the absorbent particles that gel when wet, helping to prevent leakage. The absorbent capacity should remain the same and we're sorry this has not been your experience. Please contact us so we can get some more information from you. You can reach our Consumer Care Team at: http://www.huggies.com/en-US/contact-us.

1.0 out of 5 stars "New" Huggies non-absorbant!! April 14, 2013
By HC
Unit Count:192| Size Name:4|Amazon Verified Purchase
We've been using Huggies Snug & Dry since my daughter was born in Aug 2010 and have always loved them. We've used Amazon's subscribe & save for about a year now and this past shipment provided us with Huggies Snug & Dry that are anything but. We've never had issues with urine leaking through her diapers, but since receiving the latest package of diapers we are discovering wet beds nearly every morning. If we're going to receive more cheaply made diapers then why are we paying the same price? Very disappointed, Huggies.

We're sorry to hear of your disappointment, HC. We did recently make some improvements to our Snug and Dry diapers - our new SureFit design does still have our Leak Lock® system with a more-flexible, less-bulky absorbent pad for a better fit around baby's legs and waist. With less bulk between the legs, the diaper fits closer to the body while still offering the absorbency of a thicker diaper. SureFit design also includes the unique, flexible SnugFit waistband for all-around protection. Again, we're sorry to hear of your recent experience and would like to find out more - please contact us directly at http://www.huggies.com/en-US/contact-us.
