This review is from: Hugging Grandma: Loving Those with Memory Disorders (Hardcover)
When a little girl's Grandma Sylvia stops doing all the wonderful things they used to do together, and even neglects her birthday, she worries that somehow her grandmother has stopped loving her. That's when the little girl's mother explains that Grandma Sylvia has Alzheimer's and that they must continue to love Grandma Sylvia and help her out in various ways. "Hugging Grandma" is superbly written by Zina Kramer and lovingly illustrated by Dave Messing. More than just another ordinary picture book, "Hugging Grandma" will prove invaluable for any parent or care giver helping a child cope with Alzheimer's in their family, and is a deftly effective way to explain to young children about Alzheimer's. Simply stated, "Hugging Grandma" should be a part of every community library collection.
