It flies, but so far in only a clockwise circle or spins somewhat out of control. So far it has survived all of its many crashes, and they are inevitable. It is amusing, for less than $20 but for a bit more there are others, especially the style from radio shack, which are far more controllable.

Needed lots of practise to get this thing in operation but when we did it was great...used by adults. sensitive to crashes ..but easily put back together to race again.,,frustrating for kids under 8..challenging for
the eight to 14 crowd, great for adults and teens who have "the try and try again to succeed" and patience.

These fly great for what they are. I never had a havoc heli, but from what I've read on the forums, these handle better. They're small and plastic so they're not indestructible, but there's such a small mass that they do take a pretty good beating.
