5.0 out of 5 stars HUGE CLAW, February 1, 2002
By Michael Courtney "exiled01" (San Antonio, Texas United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Hughes/Thrall (Audio CD)
I remember finding this in the 80's and I was immediately saddened that Pat Thrall had left the Pat Traver's Band. Then the first song told me that Thrall still had some good music in him with veteran Glenn Hughes. I can't actually call this a hard rock album, but it has a great edge to it. I've always enjoyed Hughes' vocals and his bass work and of course the guitar work of Thrall. Together the two have created magic in this one and only album by them. Give a listen to "I Got Your Number", "Beg, Borrow, Steal", "Hold Out Your Life", and "Who Will You Run To". Decide if Hughes/Thrall has what it takes to be a part of your CD collection. The music here is timeless and you will listen to it for years. Look at the price; it's worth it!

5.0 out of 5 stars A MONSTER ALBUM FROM A MONSTER DUO!!!!!, March 26, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Hughes/Thrall (Audio CD)
One of the greatest, and most overlooked albums from the rock steady 80's. If you ever read this, Glen Hughes and Pat Thrall, you should know we are all waiting for the next album!!! Pop sound with a really hard edge. For those interested, Hughes/Thrall did have another single that was featured in the movie Dragnet. Not a bad cut on this album! Great rendition of the Trapeze tune "Coast to Coast".This dynamic duo cannot be beat!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The album is an a rocker's paradise, October 26, 1999
By K.P. GRIFFIN (Dallas, Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hughes/Thrall (Audio CD)
As stated earlier, this is a masterpiece of heavy rock and roll. Please listen to Pat Thrall's guitar work with a group called Automatic Man for more of his guitar playing. The work on Hughes Thrall magnifies his guitar maturity and virtuosity as it progresses from Automatic Man. Glenn Hughes combines a wide vocal range and groove oriented bass playing on Hughes Thrall. The r&b and funk influences cannot be mistaken. Younger rockers really should listen to this album. The music is so contemporary. If played on today's radio you would hardly identify it as 1980's project.
