Book Description

January 19, 2006
If you’ve ever been discouraged, Hugs, Hope, and Peanut Butter is a book for you. Anyone who has faced tough times or disappointment will be encouraged by these uplifting and often- humorous essays about everything from husbands, wild bears, and a day in the emergency room, to aging, in-laws, and living with chronic illness.

With essays illustrated by critically ill children, the author draws upon her own experiences of dealing with chronic pain and depression to mix the serious with the lighthearted to bring a message of hope to the hurting. She opens her life and her heart to share everyday experiences and lessons God has taught her from them. Pain is never easy, but it’s made more bearable with the healing power of laughter; and you’ll laugh with the author as she recounts, in Erma Bombeck style, her search for the perfect purse, camping adventures, her badly behaved toy poodle, and her experience with a new magnifying mirror. Other chapter titles include, Limburger Attitude, I’ve Become My Mother, Is Broccoli Hazardous? and Life in the Manure Pile.

This delightful book is like a visit with a friend who almost always makes you laugh. It will lift your spirit, strengthen your faith, and warm your heart. It’s a must-have book you’ll want by your bedside. So dust off the night stand, make a spot for it, and buy a copy for yourself as well as one for a friend.

Note: Hugs, Hope And Peanut Butter was produced as a gift by JADA Press to the Hugs and Hope Foundation for critically ill children and all proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to the Hugs and Hope Foundation for critically ill children.

About the Author

Marsha Jordan grew up in a suburb north of Chicago and now lives in the north woods of Wisconsin with her husband of thirty years. Jordan has suffered with migraines and battled depression for much of her life. Once an active volunteer and energetic mom, life as she=d always known it came to a screeching halt when she fell victim to a mysterious connective tissue disease that turned her life upside down. She knows how it feels to be sick, in pain, frustrated, and afraid.

In 2000, Jordan founded a non-profit charity for sick children. Through her Hugs and Hope Club, Jordan strives to send a message that God cares about our pain, and no one must face life's problems alone. She wants everyone everywhere to understand how much God desires to be intimately involved in our lives, help us through struggles, and have a personal relationship with each one of us.

Jordan likes to remind people that God has a plan for every life and no one is insignificant. She encourages hurting people to learn of the awesome love, peace, and joy available to those who seek God and serve Him. Jordan's stories have been published in several books, including A Cup of Comfort. Her essays have been featured in Heart Light and Obadiah magazines, as well as over thirty newsletters and online publications such as Heart Warmers, Power to Share, Heart Touchers, and Warm Fuzzy Stories.
