Strong theoretical foundation…Good emphasis on larger social systems…Coherent organization of the text…” -- JoDee G. Keller, Pacific Lutheran University

“I find that the focus on systems theory is excellent and by the time students are finished with the book they have a clear understanding of systems.” -- Donna R. Fiedler, La Salle University

1.0 out of 5 stars Boring!, June 24, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Human Behavior and the Social Environment: Social Systems Theory (6th Edition) (Paperback)
This is the worst textbook I've come across in either undergraduate or graduate work. Our professor was instructed to use this book, but even she hated it. By the end of the semester we stopped using the book. The chapters are poorly organized. They don't even begin to define community until chapter 14. Chapter 1 and 2 discussed the exact same thing. Typically chapter 2 should build on chapter 1, not completly reexplain the same topics.

2.0 out of 5 stars bad condition, February 17, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Human Behavior and the Social Environment: Social Systems Theory (6th Edition) (Paperback)
This item was listed as used but in good condition and that was not true. The book was in terrible condition with a broken binding and lots of marks throughout. I did recieve it fast so that was a plus.
