Book Description

March 24, 2008
This book presents original and fascinating ideas regarding consciousness, life, being, experience, thought, emotion, desire, depression, anxiety, dreams, art, music, and genius. This book is an attempt to achieve a superior understanding and true growth of our being, desire, instincts, and of our consciousness in general (including thought, attention, and memory). Such growth is ultimately dependent upon the comprehensiveness and consistency of both intention and concern in relation to experience in general (that is, in relation to the natural, integrated, and extensive manifestations of sensory experience, including the range of feeling thereof); for the self represents, forms, and experiences a comprehensive approximation of experience in general. 5.5 x 8.5 soft cover trade book - 52 pages

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the paper it's printed on, May 24, 2009

Don't even bother. It's stupid and ridiculous. Just the ramblings of a crazy man who is really not so bright.

5.0 out of 5 stars Human Being: Self, Desire, and Consciousness, October 3, 2008
This review is from: Human Being: Self, Desire, and Consciousness (Paperback)
This book offers a fascinating and important new understanding of consciousness in general.

The author presents new and original ideas in a very concise manner, at times requiring one to slow down and think. The concepts in this book will really get you to read more slowly and begin to think more deeply, something alot of us have forgotten how to do,or choose not to do. I work in pediatric Physical Therapy as well as adult home health.
I can really relate to the ideas set forth in this book. I see the result that the lack of sensory experience has on my clients on a daily basis.
I also have seen the change that increased sensory experience has on their lives. Decreased anxiety and depression, and increased learning ability, increased attention span, and increased overall health.
I believe as does the author of this book that it would be beneficial
and healthy for everyone to begin to look at how they balance
natural and unnatural experiences to help improve the quality of their being. This book is a must read for anyone interested in improving their life experience in general. I found the discussions about memory, dreams, genius, art, TV, and music very interesting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Human being: Self, Desire, and Consciousness, March 3, 2009

This review is from: Human Being: Self, Desire, and Consciousness (Paperback)
Human Being: Self, Desire, and Consciousness The author DiMeglio has condensed in writing the answers to society's questions about the cause and remedy for the moral and mental decay of our modern technologically dependent civilizations, giving the thoughtful reader very practical suggestions on how to overcome the mentally enslaving effects of modern technology to become the evolved genius human being that former philosophers could only dream of for us, but never realize. Especially eye-opening is the information on the unnatural, foreign, and toxic effects of television on human consciousness and human evolution. A must-read for those who would like to have more integration, balance and peace in their daily lives and who have the courage to actually reach for it, and to claim it, instead of only wistfully desiring it.
