5.0 out of 5 stars Jesus Is All The Doctor You Need!
Words cannot express how much I loved this cd. The Cross Movement is sold out for Christ. These are a group of talented young men who could easily be selling millions of secular raps albums if they chose to, but they decided to live for Christ and minister through music. This is their third album, and they seem to be getting better with every effort. It's like they...

3.0 out of 5 stars Rap Music That Actually Doesn't Completely Suck
In general I absolutely hate rap. Because I am not a fan of the style and a huge reason is because basically every single rapper or rap group have bad lyrics which is all rap has going for it besides the beats. And the beats are generally repetitive and get old fast. It's not just that the lyrics are bad, but that they're all the same, which is also why they suck...

5.0 out of 5 stars Jesus Is All The Doctor You Need!, November 11, 2000

Words cannot express how much I loved this cd. The Cross Movement is sold out for Christ. These are a group of talented young men who could easily be selling millions of secular raps albums if they chose to, but they decided to live for Christ and minister through music. This is their third album, and they seem to be getting better with every effort. It's like they took the Bible and turned it into rap lyrics, plus they have a street edge. They know what the world is like, and they'll express to you in rap how they overcame and conquered through Jesus Christ.

"The Light (The Blazin' One)" could easily be #1 on the rap charts with its blazin' track and deep, resonate lyrics. "Live Agua" will immerse you in spirituality, and "C to the R" is super phat! "Creature Double Feature" will enlightened you on how to overcome the temptations of this world. Each song is a testimony. All I can say is that you can listen to this album from track #1 to track #20 with pure pleasure. This album will minister to your mind, heart and soul while keeping your head noddin' to some rhythmic and resonate rhymes and beats. The Cross Movement is truly one of the best, if not the best in Gospel Rap. All skilled, masterful rappers and lyricists who could put some of these multi-platinum secular rappers to shame. The Cross Movement albums minister to the soul while giving the guidelines on how to live righteously through the Bible and their own experiences.

Earthquake, Enoch, The Ambassador, The Phanatik and The Tonic are five men of God who minister through Holy Hip Hop. They will truly leave you blessed. This is a life changing musical ministry, and with one listen to them your life won't be the same! God is Love!

5.0 out of 5 stars Most truthful lyrics in the recent Christian genre., August 15, 2002

FINALLY! At last we get some lyrics that actually cover a wide range of Biblical truths without sounding boring. The lyrics of Cross Movement cover predestination, the glory of God, dealing with sexual temptation as well as drug and alcohol temptation, standing firm when others turn away from the faith, and many other day-to-day Christian truths and struggles.

When you decide, and you will, to buy this cd, you will be pleasantly surprised by the amount of in-your-face, up-close-and-personal truths. It's a nice thing to have, especially in this day and age of watered-down Christian albums.

Most of the beats are good enough to bounce to and some are flat out smooth. If you're sick of the every day Christian lyrics that aren't just cutting it, this cd is perfect for you.

WARNING: INTENSE SCRIPTURAL CONTENT!!!
This is definitely one of the best christian rap/hip hop CDs I've ever purchased! I first fell in love with this group when I heard "Know Me (Huh, What?)" on a local radio station. So i went out and got it the next day! The Cross Movement is made up of 5 brothers: The Phanatik, Earthquake, The Ambassador, Enoch, and The Tonic. What I like about this group is it has a little Jay-z, Eminem, and Ja Rule blended into it without the "Explicit lyrics". All the lyrics are praise 2 the father, son, and holy ghost. In "C to R", The Phanatik states: "Life can begin through the CROSS..." In "What do you see?", The Ambassador starts out a description of the pain that christ encountered on that friday: "The CLINK of the nails as they pierced his hands, and the LASH as they SLASH this man..." In "Hold it down", one of my favorites, and probably the GANGSTA song on the album, The Tonic raps: "While prenatal, sin seeped into your naval...". One of my favorite lines in this song is: "Even demons try to say 'Son-o-God, What up?' But Jesus turns ice-grill and replies: 'Shut up!'" These songs are some of my favorites, but all the other tracks are also good! So in short, if you like christian rap, or if you just like rap without all the "murder, money, and sex junk", this CD is it!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ministered in different ways, August 26, 2001
This review is from: Human Emergency (Audio CD)
I'm not only a person that listens to Christian Rap as entertainment, but as ministry as well. Countless numbers of my classmates listened to it and understood it. And while I was at my church camp this summer, everytime they played track 6 "Know me", EVERY person got on their feet "to celebrate him cuz we know what he saved us from". This CD encouraged me and ministered to me, and it's great to have it bumpin' in your dash while your driving, especially in my hearse lowrider... heh heh...

Good CD. Every track isn't on point production- and hook-wise, but every single song brings it lyrically. For me, the mark of a great CD is three excellent songs, and this one has at least four: Cypha 911, Know Me, Creature Double Feature, and Love Life. There are other good ones. Interestingly enough, this compares favorably to B. B. Jay's Universal Concussion (which is better-produced and more solid musically) because Cross Movement avoids what I see as B. B. Jay's mistake of focusing too much on himself and his talents. When this CD is at its best, it's the best Christian hip hop I've heard yet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality Hip Hop, May 8, 2006
This review is from: Human Emergency (Audio CD)
I've listened to all types of hip-hop, from hardcore (Lench Mobb, Ice Cube, Wu-Tang, Gravediggaz) to the pop rap on the radio today. I've only heard this one album of Cross Movement - they are talented. There is no disputing their belief and their teachings of the struggles of Christianity. Great beats, supreme lyrics, and just a quality ensemble. They blend diverse styles reminescent of the quality hip-hop of the mid-late 1990s.
