Editorial Reviews

Product Description

Human Frailty is the sound of a band running on all cylinders. Though Hunters & Collectors had trouble melding their influences (funk, tribal rhythms, melodic hooks) into a cohesive sound in the past, on this 1986 album the band finally discovered their t

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy 2 - you will wear this one out!, July 2, 2000

I bought this went it first hit the streets...it is an addictive CD.

The blend of the lead singer's voice (which is great...carries well) and the tight horn section can't be beat.

H&C truly were one of the world's most underrated bands. I saw them open for Midnight Oil....this was the best show I've ever seen.

If you can find a CD with the Living Daylights cut, do so.

Great band, great CD.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great album, September 23, 1998
By A Customer
Of the four Hunters and Collectors discs I own, this is the rawest and most primitive, but there are five or six great songs that stick in my head and no losers. "Say Goodbye" is the song that got Aussie men everywhere to sing along with the line "you don't make me feel like I'm a woman anymore." :-) "Throw Your Arms Around Me": a gem, sing it to your boyfriend or girlfriend and watch the response. "Inside A Fireball," "This Morning," "99th Home Position"--I'm doing this off the top of my head, folks, it's that memorable. If you're really lucky, this CD may still come with the "Living Daylight" EP tracks included, giving you the song of the same title and "January Rain." Classic stuff that ought to have had a lot more appeal to Americans than it did; the record companies must have been sleeping.

5.0 out of 5 stars Human Frailty Hunters and Collectors, March 31, 2002

One of my top ten favorites of all times. To me ranks with the likes of Led Zeppelin I, Hendrix Are You Experianced, Cream, Spirit...all of whom were favorites of my youth. This band fortunately got some airplay in '86-'87 on MTV and I loved it at once. Have never grown even the slightest bit tired of it. Real staying power. No gimicks just good solid driving backdrop for some pretty impressive vocal interpretation. Horns are never a big favorite for me outside of the jazz arena but in this context they are icing on a delectable cake.
