5.0 out of 5 stars A classic on motivation!, March 3, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Human Motivation (Paperback)
This is an advanced, technical work written by a leading theoretician. McClelland examines motivation in the personality and behaviorist traditions. He focuses on the dimensions of personality which drive behavior: achievement, power, affiliative, and avoidance motives. This work explores motivation in the context of trends in society, cognitive effects, values and skills, and training. Provides an enormous bibliography. This work is a classic and deserves careful reading by anyone deeply interested in the subject of motivation. Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars A superb summary of a long and dynamic literature, June 20, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Human Motivation (Paperback)
This book is highly comprehensive textbook of the research into human motivation from the perspective of a powerful and innovative thinker. It is indicative of the author that it was out of date the day it was published, but is still a valuable text.
