A great book for studying college-level physiology,
By A Customer
This review is from: Human Physiology: The Mechanisms of Body Function (Hardcover)
I used this book in my Physiology class at the U of MN. I was so impressed with it that I am now re-buying the book for my own reference now that I am out of school. Difficult-to-understand processes are relayed in an easy-to-understand format.

This review is from: Human Physiology: The Mechanism of Body Function (Hardcover)
This book is useless for learning physiology. The text is too misleading and confusing, the diagrams spin you around in a tangled web, and the whole book is shoddy and unprofessional looking. ....

I found this book to be invaluable for learning physiology. It was in-depth and has excellent illustrations. A must-have for the physiology student.

Inadequate,

This review is from: Human Physiology: The Mechanisms of Body Function (Paperback)
The book is an easy read enough for an introductory text, but the details for many chapters are really inadequate.

a suitable textbook for year one students,
By A Customer
This review is from: Human Physiology: The Mechanisms of Body Function (Hardcover)
This book is written to the appropriate depth for a year one course at university level. Some figures and chapter summaries are helpful in summarising the concepts and mechanisms. I think the chapter for "movements of molecules across cell membrane" is well written as some of the definitions given in other textbooks are incorrect. And this book has a cool webpage.

This book is comprehensive with thorough illustrations.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Human Physiology: The Mechanisms of Body Function (Hardcover)
Human Physiology is comprehensive enough to be easily read. The Illustrations cover most of the confusing topics, but not clearly enough to make it completely understandable. I had to supplement some of them with other texts. Therefore, I only give this 3 stars. I believe that this is a good introductory book for students studying Physiology. The University of Michigan uses this book in the third year of pharmacy school, in kineisiology and the first year of Dental School.

Not adequate in GI,
This review is from: Human Physiology: The Mechanism of Body Function (Hardcover)
This text is absolutely inadequate in the gastrointestinal physiology area for the level it proposes to teach. They really need to get someone who understands this area to help them out.

Best Physiology Textbook,
This review is from: Human Physiology (Paperback)
I loved this textbook. The pictures are very in-depth and the writing flows better than most medical texts. The cost is too high but so are all textbooks these days.
