Real-life stories test reader s abilities to problem solve! Interactive and stimulating, realistic and accurate, versatile and practical-- these are some of the adjectives readers applied to the successful previous editions of Human Relations and Police Work. The Fourth Edition of this popular casebook continues to cover a broad range of police and law enforcement encounters and decision-making problems as it helps readers identify more closely with these important facets of the criminal justice experience. Cases have been updated to reflect current issues that face today's law enforcement officials. These issues include sexual harassment, minority recruitment, the homeless, hate crimes, and gay rights. Forty-nine thought-provoking scenarios allow readers to test how they would cope with each situation using their own methods and applying abstract concepts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Braswell and Miller have provided a great basis for ethics, April 26, 2002
This review is from: Human Relations and Police Work (Paperback)
After having read this book and having the class taught by Dr. Braswell himself, I must say this is a great book that any recruit or criminal justice major should read. Each case provides insights not only to the elements of law enforcement but into the real world senarios that aren't often spoken. This book will make you think about your actions and that often times the best way is the hard way. I highly recommend this book.
