5.0 out of 5 stars A must for teachers of adults!
Being an adult trainer for 10 years, I have always wanted to find a book that gave me the best advice on teaching adults. Well here it is! This books talks of so many important things when teaching adults, especially the chapter on motivation and Maslow's theory. To have it written so simply and so clearly, has been fantastic for all of my uni assignments. I use quotes...

3.0 out of 5 stars Narrow spectrum
Unfortunately I purchased this book with the wrong expectations. It deals with how managers can train their employees within the spectrum of HRD. If you need a text with a more general and contextual outlook on HRD, you need to look elsewhere. If you're an entrepreneur or manager and you're looking for advice in how to manage and derive the best from your employees,...

This books talks of so many important things when teaching adults, especially the chapter on motivation and Maslow's theory. To have it written so simply and so clearly, has been fantastic for all of my uni assignments. I use quotes from this book in almost every assignment I do on adult learning. Well done Authors, a fantastic training resource!

5.0 out of 5 stars Reader, November 4, 2005

A very well written book on a subject that I often find "boringly" presented. I plan on using it as a complementary text for my graduate course in Instructional Design. It contains enormous amounts of information so well explained in a mere 190 page book. The concepts of training - from needs assessment to evaluation of the program, from principles of learning to concepts of motivation, from facilitating groups, presentation skills, planning and conducting a successful meeting ... the book is truly a gem. The book is unassumingly plain and small - no frills, just plain good and well presented information about organizational learning and training.
