This book is a good one for students entering into the HR field of management. I have it for my HR class, so its helpful that the book is a learning tool more than pleasure reading. It has all a student needs to know if they have no experience with HR, and all the details for the student who is slightly educated on HR. I wouldn't recommend for readers who want to get better at their job in the HR sector, that would require a more in depth, less basic book, but great for students and beginning HR goers.

Text is well written and filled with current references to business dealing with HR issues.

I am very disappointed because I dit not received the product that was actually listed for sale. I believe that people should be honest and list the edition that they really are going to send. I bought the Human resource managment book because according to the picture shown on the internet and the ISB NUMBER it was the same edition I was looking for, but instead I received the international edition, which was not the one I was hoping to receive. This is not good.

Book was described as nearly new and it was, with the exception of some highlighted areas throughout the book. Overall happy with the purchase. Will buy from this seller again.

I bought this book hoping for something which would give me insight into various aspects of the hiring process and specific questions I needed for an Internet start-up. Parts of the book are good, while others seems to catalogue things at some points, rather than show a good practice or innovative technique. What I really take execption to, though, is a somewhat antagonistic approach towards dealing with potential hires and employees. In fact, if companies were to follow some of the book to the letter, they may well turn away candidates who have more than one place to choose from.

the item was as good as i was expecting... n this was my third book from Amazom, I got all of them as expected and on time.... I love to shop at Amazon again n again n also recommend every one.

To date, I have never received this book. I am in fact waiting on my refund from Amazon. I had to go buy this book at my school book store spending twice as much. The seller assured me that it had been sent, but I never received it. When I tried to contact seller for a current status, I have received no communication to date. I would not recommend this seller.

This book is poorly organized. It doesn't flow well at all. Information gets lost in the details. Where there should be elaboration, there is none. It does not follow well with the online study aids from the publisher. I think The author has over thought the process a little too much. He does not tie the work together well. After having several management classes, I can say this book is my least favorite. I did, however, like the Chuck WIlliams Effective management book. I use it to translate the Dessler book....lol I have to always ask myself, okay what is he REALLY trying to say or what is his point?...then I have to go to the williams book to make it make sense, that's too bad. He over complicated the material. Management hasn't changed much over the years. The principles are the same. Why reinvent the wheel? I know technology and industries have changed but the concepts are the basic, for the most part. I'm surprised this book is used as often as it is. I would prefer not to use it. It takes the long way home and makes you twice as tired. I wanted to say OMG man can't you just get to the meat. Then there is no meat there. The chapter structure is primitive at best. so I say all this to say this is not a good book. If you have to use it get a supplement to translate or sift through the jargon (junk).
