"Human Resource Management, Eighth Edition", continues to present both the theoretical and practical aspects of HRM. The theoretical material is presented throughout the text and highlighted via a marginal glossary. The practical aspects of HRM are presented through lively and pedagogically effective examples woven throughout the text and in the end-of-chapter materials. The new edition reflects changes in the business world in general, and the HRM function within organizations, since the previous edition was published.

3.0 out of 5 stars Human Resource Management textbook, May 4, 2009

The textbook is ok as far as college material is concerned. Not much difference between the 9th and 10th edition which was disappointing. Text book companies just trying to make a buck off college students.

4.0 out of 5 stars Provides a good starting point, December 18, 2006
By
This text provides a good starting point. More focus on memorization of "facts" with some practical real world application. Could have a better focus on implementation methodologies. For the most part clear and concise. An easy read. Fine for a quarter based college intro to HR class. The apsiring HR maven would need additional materials including better training in methods of application/implementation. Better than most texts in this area

This book was a necessary purchase for a class that i have been taking. I think it is organized well but tedious to read.
