Editorial Reviews

Review

An atlas that is both instructive and relevant to the practice of modern medicine. Keenly priced. It will also prove extremely useful for medical students and for those doctors in the surgical and medical subspecialities for which an ever increasing knowledge of radiological anatomy is required. -- Journal of Anatomy (for the Atlas of Body Sections The quality of the illustrations is excellent, the legends complete and well presented. The price is fair for a book including a very high number of full-colour illustrations. This atlas can be recommended unreservedly, to both medical students and young clinicians, in particular radiologists wishing to learn human sectional anatomy. -- European Radiology A mine of clearly demonstrated anatomical detail. The interfacing of anatomical specimens with corresponding CT and MR images will facilitate understanding and remembrance of structures. As well as being comprehensive, this is an extremely compact book. -- RAD Magazine

5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE THIS BOOK!, August 30, 2008
This review is from: Human Sectional Anatomy: Pocket Atlas of Body Sections, CT and MRI Images (Paperback)
Human Sectional Anatomy: Pocket Atlas of Body Sections, CT and MRI Images

I bought this book to help me prepare for the CT registry. It is fantastic! Not only for studying for the registry, but just to have as a reference. It is a little bigger than "pocket size", but relatively small & easy to keep as a reference at work. For each anatomy slice illustrated, there is a photograph of an actual cadaver slice with almost everything numbered/labeled -- muscles, all vascular structures, etc., etc. Then, the facing page has a slice from an imaging modality (MR or CT) with a line drawing right next to it so you can find the structures more easily. There is also a drawing showing at what level of the body the section is taken from. I love, love, love this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, January 28, 2010

Freaking. Awesome. This is a great reference for learning how to identify various anatomical structures on CT and MRI images, and very helpful as a medical student studying anatomy. Although large structures are easy to identify with a basic knowledge of anatomy, I found myself often wanting to be able to properly discern all the various smaller structures. This book makes it a snap to do that. I would highly HIGHLY recommend this to get a better grasp on what you're seeing in various imaging studies. And it's just plain fun to browse through!
