Inside every HT-136 are the "hands" of a trained massage therapist. RMT closely replicates the therapeutic techniques used by back and spinal care professionals and is the preferred technology of the American College of Chiropractic Orthopedists. The massage modes that the HT-136 employs are designed to follow the natural contour of your spine to give your back a complete treatment.
With the HT-136, you customize each movement to your own preference and need. With a simple touch of the chair's wired remote, you can choose the mode of massage that you want -- rolling, kneading, percussion, or compression -- and the speed you desire for each mode. By manually positioning the rollers to the zone of the back you want to focus on, you can get a full or partial, pre-programmed 15-minute message at the level of intensity that you want.
The Four Modes of Massage
From the controls of the chair's conveniently placed wired remote, you can choose the "mode" of your massage. The "rolling" mode is designed to give you the feel of a gentle massage by pressing firmly on one side of your spine and then the other. This mode is a tension reducer and works to prepare your back for deeper tissue work. The calf and foot massager is manually deployed, which means that you can massage the exact muscle areas that need it the most. But most remarkable is the chair's full-body stretching feature. As the calf muscle wells gently hold your legs, the chair reclines to arch your back. My wife and I have found the chair very pleasant to use and helps keep our backs flexible. Like all good things too much can make you sore, which was real tempting, but not a problem. With the Amazon rebate and special Friday only price it was a real deal for the money. We also like the fact that it doesn't take up a lot of floor space. Some of those massage chairs are more like a sea captains chair, this one doesn't.

I purchased this massage chair as a gift for my wife. It is a very attractive piece of furniture, made of high quality materials. The massage functions are comprehensive, and can be customized for whatever ache you are feeling. The controls offer several varieties of massage technique, massage width, and stretch controls. The leg/foot massage function is OK only. Overall, however, it adds to the experience of the chair.
The chair is big. You will need a fair amount of space for the auto recline and stretch functions. Also, their are some spots on the back that can't be reached by the chair's massage functions. Not a major defect, and I'm not sure that any other chair is better, but still requires a human massage every so often.

My wife and I decided to splurge and purchased this chair for $2K. It is rather pricy for a chair, but it is worth it. The leather is nice and soft and the massage modes abundant and wonderful. All the modes are good imitation of real massage techniques. We highly recommend this chair.
