By all means, this does not replace an actual massage, nor does it even compare to the higher priced leather reclining massage chairs. That being said, for a quick rub down, possibly after working out, this works, and better than most other similar products. The heat is a bonus and kneading roller far exceed that of simple vibrations. Best for mid back, okay for lower, and barely a touch above the shoulder blades.

I have tried other items similar to this one but I was blown away by how comfortable it is. I even bring it to work so that I can be pampered at work and it feel like I am just floating all day long. The warmth from this chair also helps when you come back from the gym after a long work out, Just jump in the shower rinse of and sit on this chair for about and hour and I wake up the next day feeling like a new person all over again.

I have had several Homedic chair back massagers before, and they did a deeper massage. Unfortunately, they all broke in various cases, so I had decided to try the Human Touch pad. It's 'heavy' and it's massaging balls don't extend very far, limiting its massaging. I can't recommend the product, unless the person was smaller (I'm 6', 200lb) and didn't need it to press in the back much.

The whole family has enjoyed this since buying for Christmas for a gift. It does an excellent job on the lower and mid back and a very good job on the upper back with my only complaint is personally I would like the upper back to be a little firmer. The lower and mid are nice and firm which can obviously be adjusted by how much you lean into it but I have tried others that could not offer suffecient firmness. I would recommend this if you are looking for a reliable back massage without breaking the bank.

The pad lasted about 3 months. I thought it would be a little gentler than those offered at Walmart at half the price. It turned out that it was very painful on a tender back and did little to help with stiffness. The hard plastic mechanism, coupled with extremely flimsy toggle switches, doesn't seem designed for any type of permanence. I trashed the thing. It wasn't worth repairing.

The Human Touch HT massage pad is uncomfortable and not worth even the sale price. The seat is stiff and sits up too high for the high back desk chair that I have. The shiatsu balls are uncomfortable and you can't sit in it for more than a few minutes. Brookstone's model of this is far superior for the same amount of money.

I got this chair for my husband during the Christmas time. The lower balls rolling up really hurt his back. I tried it, too.... ouch, OUCCCHHHHH. We have not used it since then.

This product has broken twice. The overall, rating is low due to this fact. The product massages nicely while it worked briefly.

This is an edited review due to the early demise of my Human Touch HT-1470 Back pad. After two months it stopped working. I wasn't even using it that much the last few weeks.

When this device was operating, it worked great. The effects one gets from this massager depends on one's physique. I'm 5'7" and slender but I've always had a spine that protuded out thanks to years of high physical activity. So, when I got this pad my back was initially very sore as the balls rotated right along the spine. OUCH! Once I learned how to sit properly against it, it worked very well...to the point that I kept turning it on after every 15-minute session.

The heating pad is nice, too. I definitely feel it when it's on! I use my pad on my office chair; I'm on it right now enjoying the warmth on my butt. My cat likes it, too which is a problem as the outter material is made with a soft vinyl which could fall victim to his claws when he jumps into my chair. I have to cover my pad with an old sheep skin that my cat likes to sleep on.

The thick pad is comfortable to sit on without the massage rollers on and has now become a fixture in my office chair. (The extension cord is five feet long.)

My other complaint is that there are only three settings: high, medium and low-back massage. The medium setting is high enough on my back but the high irritates my neck bones. The rollers in the pad can not be stopped in one position for longer kneading, and there are no rollers that are further apart in the pad to massage the sore muscles further away from the spine.

I was a little concerned about other reviews stating that this device stopped working after a few months. I should have paid better attention to those!

Not sure I know what else to say but WOW! For the price this thing is amazing.....just about as good as a $2500 chair. It does fit a bit awkwardly into my office chair and you end sitting leaned forward slightly but you get used to it pretty quickly.
