Not as good as I thought it would be, January 18, 2011
This review is from: Human Touch Leather Perfect Chair Recliner Zero Anti Gravity Lounger - BLACK PC-8
I originally purchased this chair for my mother. Unfortunately it turned out to be too difficult for her to operate. This chair requires plenty of strength and a certain technique to recline and sit up. Also, the leg rest does not retract close enough to the chair when you sit up, which makes it difficult to exit the chair. Your feet aren't under you enough, so your basically trying to stand up with your feet still out in front of you. It could also use another 3 inches in seat height for help with exiting the chair. The electric models aren't much better as far as the foot rest goes. And, believe it or not, there is no battery backup supply to power the chair in the event your electricity goes out. Which basically means an elderly person could get stranded in the chair, which would be seriously bad. This is a big disappointment for us because the chair is otherwise comfortable to recline in. And for those of you who think you will just send it back if not satisfied, consider this; this thing is a heavy load to uncrate and crate for shipping. You also may find yourself struggling to remember how to get it back in the box.

Not so perfect, May 25, 2011
This review is from: Human Touch Leather Perfect Chair Recliner Zero Anti Gravity Lounger - BLACK PC-8
I have had this chair for 4 months and have yet to spend more than five minutes in it. This chair is definitely not for petite people. I am 5'2" and cannot reach the brake to operate it if I recline back more than a couple of inches. My head reached no where near the top portion of the chair so trying to adjust the neck support is futile. It is a huge strain on my neck, back, and shoulders, trying to operate the brake in order to recline. I tried to recline back in the back rest position and had to have someone lift me up from behind until I could reach the brake. Ironically, I actually ordered the chair in preparation for brain surgery but for this chair is absolutely useless for me. I have a lot of neck and spine problems stemming from a brain malformation and needed something that would take the pressure off of my neck and back (this chair does the opposite). Also, the bonded leather is very very stiff and there is a huge seam running down the middle that puts too much pressure on my spine.
The same day that I received the chair I contacted the company and asked if I could exchange it for a smaller version in premium leather and was told that I could but it would have cost me an ~ $500.00 in shipping charges plus an extra $400.00 for the silhouette model (an additonal $900.00) so unfortunately, this was not an option for me.
The part that really makes me upset is that 1.5 hours after i ordered this chair, I tried to cancel the order and order an electric model (less strenous)but was informed that the chair had already shipped (which I later found out was not true). I would have thought that since they did not allow me to change my order in the first place, they would have waived the 50% of the shipping cost. So now I have a $1500.00 chair that is just sitting there looking like a lump of coal and cannot afford to replace it (or to just give it away) at this point.
I would not recommend ordering this chair if you are petite in stature. I wish someone had warned me.
