A Soundtrack for Life,
By "lakylaky" (Auckland, New Zealand) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Human Traffic (OST) (Audio CD)
Lovely lovely soundtrack to the clubbing scene. The movie is extremely funky and oh so true to the club scene. This soundtrack makes me feel the movie over and over again. Makes me not forget the euphoria of clubbing. The first CD covers all blends of dance music - from hip hop to jungle to downbeat - it is all there with some of the best moments from the movie. (I was looking for the "Who is the Queen?" track though - disappointed it was not in the soundtrack). The second CD is a heavenly mix CD. Track 11 onwards is pure bliss. Pete Tong is the man. GET IT, WATCH THE MOVIE, SPACE OUT!

Nice One Bru- Brutha!,

Ahhhhhh...Truly, on the twilight of my clubbin' career, this movie was responsible for a rebirth. While the scene isn't what it once was, this film (and its formidible sound-track) capture what was best (and a little of what was worst) about rollin'. If you are on a budget, or just like keeping your CD collection "choice", this album is a must. THE WEEKEND HAS LANDED!

Being a brit and living the scene from 88 to 95 the albun and the movie are as good a depiction of the scene as you can get. Infact I think I can remeber that weekend:-). Every song was a club clasic and have partyed to virtualy all of them. Steve from USA The scene with the juncalists is actualy reidiculing narow minded people from the hard core crew who think that is all there is. But you wouldn't get that. Nice one Pete. Top sound track! Top movie!

This Movie Rocked,

Hey Steve from USA, try opening your mind a little bit. It is apparent to me that you aren't a big raver so you shouldn't even watch this movie. Raveing is all about having an open mind, who cares about Big names in Techno, if it's good dance to it... I don't care if Englebert Humperdink made a techno song if it sounded good I would dance to it... I'll tell you what get Mirc and download some tracks, if you don't like it then you can talk junk about the soundtrack but hey give it a try...

It is about the UK club scene not the US Rave scene. And if you are looking Prodigy, or as Steve says "Rave jams" go somewhere else. This sound track is filled with great tracks from start to finish. A great cd that represent the scene. It has some classics for sure. But also some newer stuff. But GO SEE THE MOVIE!!!! It is the best most realistic club movie probably ever!

Pretty darn good,

I haven't seen the movie yet, as it hasn't found it's way here yet, but I bought the soundtrack anyway on the advice of someone who should know, and I'm extremely happy with it. There's a whole heap of different tracks on there and they are all pretty darn good.

A nice one indeed,

This album has the right number of quotes from the film and the right kind of diversity of music. It's not just your average compliation. The 1st CD is a good mix of faster and slower beat tunes, with a healthy helping of comedy to assist and the 2nd CD is a mix by the Man Pete Tong. I rate it pretty highly with the only alteration I would make being the 1998 version of a certain track - But who am I to query. This format of one cd being more commercially acceptable and the other being a mix is, in my eyes, a pretty successful way of enlightening those people who would not normally buy albums playing this type of music. Nice one brothers and sisters, infact everybody involved in the production of the best clubbing film and soundtrack in existence today.

I'm British and a big clubbers. This movie and soundtrack are a very realistic representation of the scene. The soundtrack is a combination of mellow, hard, funky and funny. If you like electronica, or even think you might, this album is is a great 'one fits all' collection. Buy it and I'll see you under the lasers.............

"proper rave jams"?! i'd like to know what you mean by that 'steve from USA'. There were plenty of proper rave jams in the movie! This was an excellent movie, really the truest picture of the scene that i've seen in a movie yet. The music in this film succeeded in capturing exactly the what the film was trying to convey. the 'proper rave jams' of which 'steve from usa' speaks dont belong to this soundtrack any more than Brittany Spears does. If you want to listen to prodigy, go buy a prodigy cd. If you want to an excellent soundtrack with wonderful electronica, then buy this soundtrack.
