5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing book, but ruined my life. September 3, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
By far the most intriguing mixture of genres I've ever read. It's like "50 Shades of Grey" meets "Hunger Games" with a zombie twist.

I started reading this book while on my lunch break. I was so drawn in, I couldn't put it down. My boss caught me reading the book in the bathroom stall, and despite the shocking lack of privacy one should be entitled to while in the bathroom stall, I was promptly dismissed. I was too distracted reading this book as I packed my office into cardboard boxes, I completely forgot my coffee mug my 4 year old blind daughter made me. I really miss that mug. As I was driving home, I couldn't control my intrigue any longer, and started reading a few pages at stop lights and while pumping gas. But before I even made it halfway home, I was reading while driving on the freeway. Suddenly, traffic screeched to a halt and I had to swerve to avoid hitting a bus of orphaned school children, but still collided with an off-duty police officer. Needless to say, my car was totaled and I was issued a citation for distracted driving. This being my third accident this year, was immediately dropped from my auto policy. Also, since it was my fault, they weren't going to replace my vehicle.

When the tow truck driver dropped me off at home, it was still the middle of the workday. I kept reading the book while walking up the driveway, and completely didn't see the extra car in the driveway. I made it to the living room and while reading on the couch, I heard weird sounds from the bedroom. Sure enough, my wife was having an affair with my boss. Apparently he came to my house to inform her and apologize (they had formed a friendship at company functions) for my dismissal, and she became so enraged that she gave herself to him.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thick, Solid, Tight May 1, 2013

This was an awesome book and had me on the edge of my seat never wanting to stop turning the pages. As far as zombie books goes this one is the best I've read so far. I hope this author comes out with more books! I hope I'm kept posted on his progress so I can see just how thick solid and tight his next book is!

5.0 out of 5 stars 10/10 Will read to grandchildren May 2, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book does for the zombie genre what Playboy has done for porn. I am printing this out right now. After I am done I will roll up each chapter individually and store them inside the barrels of the various firearms I will be passing on to my children. When it is time to fight off the Zombie Apocalypse it is my hope that this information reaches those who will need it most. Nicholas DiLeo Jr has really woken me up to parallels between "fictional" Zombie hordes and the current political atmosphere, and it is my sincere hope that this book will touch many other lives, pre-Apocalypse. If there is one thing I have learned from this book it's that I need to lift heavy weights so that after my firearms are confiscated by Obama I can crush zombies with my callused man claws.

3.0 out of 5 stars Eh March 5, 2014

Warning: Spoilers
This story has many things that are common in zombie novels: cannibalism, communities of survivors fighting each other, and a final showdown after you think the villain was already dead! I know other reviews said this book was really original, but I have seen these other ideas before, and done well. The book started off dull and got a little better as it went along. I would give it a 2.5, but I rounded up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read August 23, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book was a great read, and much different than your typical zombie story. I finished it in two sittings, which for me is a sign of praise since I usually finish a single book over the course of a couple weeks. Story starts out interesting and keeps you sucked in with all the things that happen, I'll be looking forward to future books from this author.
