another brillaint dark comedy from korea, November 30, 2006
This review is from: Humanist (DVD)
i didn't expect much when i popped this dvd into my machine. the description sounded lame and the cover art was boring and nondescript. however i was more than pleasantly surprised to find a witty, imaginative and twisted dark comedy reminiscant of jan wook park's (oldboy, lady vengeance, sympathy for mr vengeance) films. every country seems to excel in at least one area. korea 's specialty seems to be really original, sick, briliant insanity. i have seen thousands of films from all over the world and very few of them make any kind of impression on me. this movie did. i have high hopes for mu-yeong lee. i think he could eventually rival takashi miike, jan wook park, and beat takashi in quality and originality.
