5.0 out of 5 stars Does What it Says!, April 24, 2011

This review is from: Chigg-Away Chigger Repellent (Misc.)
I have been using Chigg Away for many, many years...I had no idea it was still being made. I've never used it to relieve itching, etc., only to prevent the insects from attacking in the first place...(In the South, we call chiggers "red bugs")...No matter what you call them, they will itch you nuts. If you're new to the outdoors, here's my red bug advice to you...

Apply Chigg Away to the legs at the bottom of your pants or shorts, around your neck and upper arms, and ESPECIALLY around your waist...use a lot of it...it is a sulphur-smelling lotion, not enjoyable but not all that bad either...when you get home, take a hot shower and then soak for 30 minutes in a hot bath with a cup or two of bleach added...wash the clothes, don't wear them again if possible...I know this is a lot of trouble but it's worth it, I promise...if you still get a chigger, cover it immediately with Chigg-A-Rid or clear nail polish.

You can make your own Chigg Away by mixing flowers of sulfur powder and glycerin, works good, but this mix doesn't have the small amount of Benzocaine that the retail product has, does make some difference.

I would lable this as junk. I used it several times, and it stinks ( odor ), and didn't repel Chiggers. Where I live is a high infestation of chiggers, and this product didn't help me. Hank in Indianapolis
