Been a fan of Nappy Roots for a long long time now and to see them put together an album this good just really makes me happy.I have listened to the album from start to finish and let me say the beats are sick and the lyrics are even more sick.If your looking for a great album to purchase that just doesn't have 3 or 4 decent songs but you can listen all the way through i recommend buying this Nappy Roots.Highly recommended not only by me but several of my peers.

NAPPY ROOTS IS AMAZING,
This review is from: Humdinger (Audio CD)
Although their second cd wasn't all that great, and even though R Prophet left (best one) this album is awesome. Buy it, you won't regret it. Back to the days od Watermelon, chicken and gritz. Way to come back nappy

The first half of this album.. up to track 7 just completely kills!! So awesome.. but like the Chicken and Grits album.. the 2nd half blows and not very creative at all.

I don't think this one is as totally incredible as Wooden Leather and Watermelon, but if you're in to the Nappy Roots don't miss this one. Some of the beats are a little weak & clubby. I think the real goods on this album are toward the end. Using Greg Nice's "No Static" as a chorus created an instant classic for me. This is REAL Southern Hip Hop.

the Humdinger,

this is the best hip-hop album ive heard in a long time. Fantastic from start to finish and if you like Outcast, you'll love it... the beats are sick and bounce w/organic elements, lyrics are smart and real.

I thought I liked this CD!,

I thought I liked this CD until I found myself driving down the interstate late one night with the volume up all the way really listening...DAMN I love this CD! I can not tell you how many times I would repeat a track just to find something new.. and finding it! With Nappy Roots, its the small touches in their music that make them checking out! Just buy it, it's worth twice the price.
My first review... sorry if it sucks.

Their Best Work Yet!,
This review is from: Humdinger (Audio CD)
Beyond a shadow of a doubt, Nappy Roots is back! They have really done it this time, too. From beginning to end, this album presents a slice of life everyone can relate to. The pivot point in the album, going from Good Day into Down and Out is an excellent and meaningful reflection of the times we are living in.
The production is top notch, the mixes are very expressive, and the overall product has classic written all over it. I have listened to it over and over, and each time i listen, i find something in it that makes me say wow! Each one of the fellas, Skinny, Scales, Cluth, Big V, and my man B.Stille represented to the fullest on this one. No weak verses, no unclear lyrics, no bull***t content! It's hot! And if you don't buy it you're not! Peace

nappy roots are better than your favorite rapper,

man, i`ve been missing the napy roots for a while now. when watermelon burst onto the scene, i saw the video for aww naww, bought the album and have been a huge fan ever since. i always have and always will buy nappy roots albums.
the@humdinger is a return to excellence. i live in japan and had to pay 25 bucks for it and you know what? worth evey penny. they`ve been off the radar for a long time and that can mean bitterness which creeps into the lyrics or a change in style, but not with nappy roots. the sheer variety of roots members means that you get a great mix of voices and they make every verse count. this is one of those few cds you just let run. this is real hip hop. lil wayne, kanye, even nas with his last album could all learn something from these kentucky boys. keep it nappy.

Huh?,
This review is from: Humdinger (Audio CD)
Nappy Roots....... an extraordinary talent as far as lyrics and content is concerned. But I feel they're loosing projected profit's and momentum with these wack azz producer's. The beat's are garbage on the humdinger album and the sound's are flat, no feeling and no emotion. You guys need to get back to the songs like, Ballin' On A Budget, Ballin' On A Budget, Slums and Country Boyz. These songs had emotion and feeling that helped to identify your style of rap. Dont lose your fan base by saving a few dollars!!!
