5.0 out of 5 stars Not so Jack Off Jill
I'm only giving this 5 stars because the actual recordings are priceless. However I'm telling you now. DO NOT BUY THIS ALBUM

This is stolen goods and the recordings that are on this cd are not even of the finest quality.

This is purely a commercial album released by the record company without the permission of Jack Off Jill's members. And thus...

5.0 out of 5 stars Raw Teenage Agression, May 12, 2006

I recommend this CD for any one who loves the rawest, most aggressive riot grrrl acts such as Babes In Toyland and Hole (circa their debut album Pretty On The Inside) and Jack Off Jill's first album Sexless Demons And Scars.

It's certainly not an album for the faint hearted. Lots of screaming and like i said, just pure, raw, teenage girl aggression. I am a die hard Jack Off Jill fan and this is by far my favourite Jack Off Jill album. Sometimes the earlier studd is the best.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good songs, but these are demo quality, December 23, 2003

If you're a fan of Enuff Z'Nuff, this record is no surprise. There are several standout songs and then a few that are just OK.

Two things really jump out at me right away about this CD: #1: most songs use a drum machine, not real drums; and #2: this is a low budget production. In some songs, I even wonder if there's any bass at all. If there is, it can't be heard. This sounds like some 4-track stuff my college band used to do (although Donnie is clearly a better writer!).

For some reason, this CD skips REALLY BAD when I play it in my car (which only happens with the CD-R's, usually, not regular CD's). It's so bad I can only listen to it at home on my regular stereo. This makes me wonder if it's just a CD-R, since everything else is low-budget, too.

Even with all of these shortcomings, this album is pretty darn good and worth the $, because at the end of the day, it's the songs that count. And these songs (at least most of 'em) are good. I do hope, however, that this solo career thing for Vie is just a side-project and not his long-term plan. Enuff Z'Nuff is too good to just let it fade away.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Solo Debut, September 29, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Just Enough (Audio CD)
All the years of Enuff Z nuff, we all knew Donnie had this Lennon, pop like talent that got hidden in the sound of a hard rock band.

This time, Donnie gets to play pure pop hits that sound like instant classics.

Every track is a winner. Many sound like songs the Beatles may have performed/written. Others sound totally original. Either way, Donnie's voice and song writing have never been better.

I cannot find one song I do not like. Donnie Vie is not only a great singer, he is a brilliant song writer. Track 3 and 9 are really good ballads. I cannot say enough good things about this album. I do wish he would get back together with Enuff 'Z' Nuff..I really don't care if he used drum machines, or what..It isn't about the drums, it's about his voice and the way he weaves his voice through every song with such passion. You will not be dissappointed, purchase it..It's a must have...

Donnie Vie's Just Enough is an amazing disc. Right from Spider Web through Wastin' Time not a bad tune in the bunch. Better Days and That's What Love Is are the standout tracks. A must have for any Enuff Z'nuff fans. Anyone who is a fan of Beatlesque hooks should check it out. It would be a five star rating except you can tell it is a low budget record. With better production this is a five star record. Highly recommend this album.

Donnie Vie, John Lennon, Brian Wilson and Freddie Mercury. That's all you need to know. Get any enuff z nuff cd you can and definitely get Just Enough. I wish I could sing with half the emotion of Donnie. He has such a unique voice.
