Stuart Rosh celebrates the breadth of American music with a stellar cast. Guitarist Rick Gordon (Delbert McClinton Band), fiddler Shad Cobb (Osborne Brothers), and keys guru Ronnie Godfrey (Marshall Tucker Band) front a solid rhythm section. Stuart's vocals glide over his award winning songs. Joy Lynn White adds her incomparable voice to a duet, and Audrey Auld's smooth backing vocals add a touch of sweetness. Elements of rock, blues, jazz, bluegrass and klezmer infuse the music, and make for a varied and entrancing landscape.
Hummingbirds in Flight follows hot on the heels of Stuart's debut CD with his honky tonk band, The Geniuses, Accept No Imitations (2004). That album came out of nowhere to find worldwide radio play on radio stations (#37 on the Americana Music Association chart), received stellar reviews (Best CDs of 2004, Americana-UK), and its title cut was featured on Catamount Records Hot Unsigned Artists CD.
"The idea was to put together a great band and just play live on tape to keep the spontaneity and energy level high," says Stuart about Hummingbirds in Flight.
Grammy-winning engineer and producer Richard Adler (Neil Young, Alison Krauss) kept the tape reels rolling. The result is an album that's rewarding to the ear, heart and mind, overflowing with great songs and musicianship.
