Having experienced chronic illness, one treasures anything that brings one a sence of wellbeing. This is certainly the case with this incredible audiobook. From antidotal stories to Amens, this work is medicine for the soul! As the old saying goes, "I laughed - I cried" and then I laughed some more! I recommend that you take a heaping dose of this "for what ails you"! You'll be glad you did.

I have had rheumatoid arthritis since I was a small child. Seven joint replacements, an average of at least 2 hospital in-patient stays per year and lots of pain and depression later, I keep these tapes in my walkman almost constantly. I know them word for word. They are the first thing I pack when going to hospital, the last thing I listen to if I'm having trouble sleeping because of pain or depression and the best thing I could recommend to anyone with chronic illness. Bernie's voice is soothing and friendly. The content of these tapes is brilliant, drawing not just on famous comics such as Woody Allen but using inspirational people such as Helen Keller. From memory, my favourite quote from the tape is from a little boy named Jason, who says: "If God had wanted me to be a basketball player he would have made me 10 feet tall; but He gave me cancer so I could write a book and help other people". For me, this typifies Bernie's work and reminds me always that some good can come from such pain. The only reason I've rated it 4 stars is because I'd like there to be more of it! Superb.

I found this to be a excellent cd I am a nurse and have followed Bernie siegels books and cd's since the late 1989 I found his book on my patients night stands His works give people hope and humor is very healing you will laugh and when you laugh it is impossible to experience any other emotion I highly recomend this cd (the mind body connection is a powerful tool that any one can use and is a recognized branch of medicine)

I've been a fan of Bernie Siegel's Meditation CD's for years now. It's long been an established fact that humor has the power to heal you. It can strengthen the immune system and increase your overall sense of well-being. What I love most about Bernie's use of humor as an agent towards healing is how wise and warm he is when going through the meditations. Bernie seems like an old friend who you can trust to lead you along the way. Excellent CD, warm and wonderful and so inspirational! You cannot help but laugh. I played my in the car and have not stopped laughing yet!!

Silly badly written new age junk. Siegel seems to think that cancer reduces your intellectual level to that of a six year old and writes accordingly.
