Laugh 'til the tears flow,
By A Customer
This review is from: Humor Me (Hardcover)
Quick simply, Johnson has again provided a book that is both true to life and very funny. Her ability to remind us of the humorous side of life, even when life might be hurting, too, is a gift to be treasured. When I first picked up this book to skim it - borrowed from a friend - I laughed so much I had to stop reading because I was crying with laughter, unable to see and with an aching side. I tried to stay away from it, but had to continue reading - and thit all happened again. And again. Get it, read it, enjoy it, and share this gift of laughter with your friends!

A good laugh from a small book,

I enjoyed reading this book...you'll definitely laugh. She's got a way of making you see how you CAN laugh at everyday life, even when you're in the thick of it.
But I was surprised by the size of the book when I received it. (They give the dimensions on Amazon, but I've never looked at them...I will now!) :-) This book is a little bigger than 4x6 and is less than half an inch thick. You could read it cover to cover in a half hour. So, it seems a bit overpriced to me. It's a good read, but in retrospect, I wouldn't purchase it again.

Mother ran out of humor,

This should have been two books instead of one. That would have been hard considering the book is so small. At the beginning I loved the book and could identify with many issues. It was nice to look back and laugh. She started it as a funny book about being pregnant and raising children. She should have stopped the book there. I had planned to give it to my daughter who is pregnant now. But then the author went into some very sad situations concerning what happened to her children when they were grown. She could have written a book about how she handled those situations but they did not belong in this book. I will not be passing this book along to my daughter.

OMG -LOL,

Honestly, when I first received this book as a gift several years ago, I did not read it . . . I don't know why maybe it wasn't matching up to size to good reads like Executive Orders or Gone With the Wind. Well, I ran out of books and needed a quick read until my next REAL book came along. I had no expectations and thus was not set up for disappointments in its size or content or presentation thereof. OMG, what a delight and it took all of one evening to read! Brought back so many memories of my four growing up some of which I had completely forgotten about. This will make a perfect "Mother's Day" card for each of my four who are in some stage of development with their own broods! Maybe just like me, they won't read it cover to cover as soon as they receive it; but someday they will and then reflect on just how much the agony of parenting is so worth it! So, for now I'll put it aside . . . I'm sure I'll re-read it again, maybe when the great-grandkids are creating their own form of havoc. I'll be hoping for the same effect only twice as much.

doesn't translate on audio,

while this might be a great read, the humor and timing does not translate to audio. It comes off as a boring narrative.
