-It's too short (only 9 songs)
-Sound, although very good, only in 2ch DD (no DTS nor 2+3 DD)
On the plus side:
-Performances couldn't be better, as you'd expect from these musicians
-Image quality is perfect and the cameras are always where they should be. (You don't miss a bit of the solos)
-And the best technical feature in my opinion, you can play the entire show with the interviews in-between the songs or play it separately, only the interviews or just the songs without the interviews. Well done!
And on the super-plus side:
- It's Alison Krauss singing !
Now if we could just have a blu-ray concert of Alison and Union Station . . .
Why? Well, first of all, it has to be said that Alison Krauss is and remains extraordinary; the beauty and quality of that voice are really something else. She is joined by members of Union Station and various other musicians. There are some really great tracks here. If "Sawing on the strings" doesn't get your feet tapping, have the man screw the lid down right away.
My main problem is that there is rather short measure here, only 9 tracks (the identically-named CD has rather more, although the other tracks (e.g. with the Chieftains) were probably recorded at a different place and time). Secondly, not even the brilliance of Ms. Krauss and Union Station can compensate for the lack of brilliance of some of the partners. I found both the James Taylor and John Waite efforts particularly poor.
I found the various interviews a bit painful, with everyone saying how wonderful everyone else was and how they sacrificed to each other's effigies every night. We would have been better off with more singing and playing - an instrumental number showing off Ms. Krauss's fiddle-playing skills would have been good.
Nevertheless, in spite of these minor reservations, still worth having.
This is one hell of a talented group of musicians behind Allison.
There are so many styles and voices out there, but there is only one Alison Krauss! Her haunting melodies stay with you into the night. You never forget them. Her guests were wonderful on this DVD. Especially James Taylor!

Beautiful. It fascinates me the way she works with the Union Station and other musicians.
Amazing how Dan Tyminski works with her on harmony. Read more
One of our favorite music concerts, and we adore Alison's voice and music choices. The duets are great - with James Taylor, etc.Published 8 months ago by D. Solomon
Love this DVD. Alison Krauss and the stars that perform the duets with her are so beautifully done. The musicians are great, too! I listen to and watch this one over and over!Published 8 months ago by nurse75
I can only wish Alison and friends would do more. Old sound by today's standards but still wonderful.Published 11 months ago by Gerald Eads
This is the only DVD that will not play on my DVD player, but it will play on my computer. There has to be some kind of technical flaw in the production of this DVD. Read morePublished 14 months ago by GK
