Worth watching for Tamlyn Tomita's performance,

Like the others, my copy also freezes but with repeated tries on my PC I believe I have seen all there is to see. What I've seen is a mixed bag. For me the most interesting of the three stories by far is the one with Tamlyn Tomita, Dustin Nyugen and Stan Egi which revolves around a pair of nunchucks from the Bruce Lee film "Enter The Dragon" . Indeed, the movie is worth watching for Tamlyn's performance alone. In one scene at the coffee shop where Nyugen's character works, she runs the gambit of emotions from happy, to curious, to concerned, then to nervous, then disappointment and finally as she walks out the door she shows a little disgust and she looks absolutely gorgeous throughout the entire movie. Nguyen's character is very likable while Stan Egi's character is menacing in a comic way. The worst part of this story was the sub par editing in the hotel fight scene and some mediocre dialog.
The Darion Basco/Keiko Agena story about a '64 Chevy low-rider temporarily won in a poker game has it's moments but overacting by both is a bit of a distraction. I was least interested in the Garrett Wang/Lindsay Price story about a struggling actor and his girlfriend. The acting was more appropriate than Basco/Agena but not as good as Tomita/Nguyen. Francois Giroday, who plays a movie director was very good. It's also fun to see Anthony Anderson (Law & Order) and John Hawkes (Deadwood) in cameos at the beginning of the movie in the Darion Basco story. Overall, the movie rates two stars but Tomita's performance elevates it to three stars for me.

This is an interesting Asian-American movie with Garrett Wang from Star Trek Voyager and Dustin Nguyen from VIP. Too bad the copy I got kept freezing up during one scene. And I had to send it back.
