Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

Sniegoski is back on track with the fourth adventure of angel-turned-PI Remy Chandler (after 2010's Where Angels Fear to Tread). The Sons of Adam, who watch over the first man until he's allowed entrance to heaven, hire Remy to help them find the long-lost key to the Garden of Eden, in the form of a descendant of Eve. Along the way, Remy fights a violent cherubim, encounters the archangel Malachi, and finally begins dating again. Sniegoski nicely juggles a large cast and throws in some touching moments (Remy's conversations with his late wife, Madeline, are especially sweet) and humor (as always, provided by Remy's dog, Marlowe) to balance the epic violence. There's more than enough nonintrusive exposition to let new readers jump into the story, while longtime fans will appreciate the development of recurring characters such as fallen angel Francis. 3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the previous books March 17, 2011
Format:Paperback
I love Remy Chandler. I consider him one of the best urban fantasy detectives out there today. It was with
great anticipation that I awaited the release of this one, and I read it in two days (I have to work).
I was a little disappointed.
Remy is not a main character in this book. It's like he was pushed to the background. He takes a backseat to
the Sons of Adam and the Daughters of Eve, and the other fallen angels who all have their own agendas. Remy
just seems to have been brought in as a minor character. I didn't like that.
And there was one glaring point that I don't know if anyone else picked up on, but it made me so angry. It
concerns the story itself. This is not a spoiler. It's the back story that sets up the main story. But
apparently, centuries ago, the son's of Adam hunted down and burned Eve alive in the hope of attaining
forgiveness for Adam.
Now, centuries later, God in His infinite mercy, has decided that Adam should at last be forgiven and should be
allowed to return to Eden to die.
There's no word from On High as to when Eve might get the same consideration, after being roasted alive. If
that doesn't piss off every woman out there, I don't know what could.
Anyway, that's a personal opinion. Otherwise, the story itself was full of action and drama. The best scenes
were of Hell shaking off its foundations as Lucifer slowly awoke. (Perhaps the setup to a future Remy
Chandler book-I hope!)
I guess good books are supposed to make you think, make you angry, move you, but I just didn't like the
relegation of Remy to the background of the story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Roller Coaster of a Tale! March 4, 2011
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
A Hundred Words For Hate takes everything wonderful and good from the first three installments of the Remy Chandler series and multiplies it exponentially. The pace is breakneck but easy to keep up with, and is easily the most fun ride yet. Remy himself undergoes an epic amount of development as an angel--and more importantly, as a man. The struggles he faces are many--both physical and psychological--but he emerges the stronger for it, and was a joy to read about. Supporting characters also seen a lot of development, with unexpected appearances and history to throw expectations for a whirl while adding sheer depth and life to Remy's world. The plot is a roller coaster of a ride--especially when it jumps the tracks--and is the most fun yet, bringing aspects from the previous novels into play, as well as setting up the stage for following installments--an attractive quality for a series of this nature.

All in all, my favorite Remy Chandler novel to date.

4.0 out of 5 stars It was the lesser of the series but still good June 28, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I like this author. I like the subject and the man knows how to write and draw you into his world of seraphim, dark beings and for once a not so benevolent God. I like the fact that he his characters are not just evil or not just good they have grey sides too. So does the Morningstar, so does Remiel. It did change my entire perspective on angels lol. It seems that they are not the benevolent caring and loving beings we were taught to believe in but equally as flawed as we are, equally as flawed as their God. It has a fast pace, a good scene setting and the right feel to it. I liked it
