This review is from: One Hundred Years of Land Values in Chicago: The Relationship of the Growth of Chicago to the Rise of Its Land Values, 1830-1933 (Paperback)
Barton Biggs referred to this in Hedghogging otherwise I'd never have heard of it.
It's a tough read but worth it. I am pleased I read it ahead of the latest property shakout. It will help you understand why property prices go up and the clearing beahviour of this illiquid asset during shakouts. Also its a fantastic timepeace. The rigor, the seriousness, the handcrafted charts, the labourious data collation. I use the term "bible" with consideration. It's old, out of date, anachronistic yet its truths are valid and worth adhering too. |
