What the heck?, January 22, 2000
This review is from: Hungry for Your Love (Audio CD)
I ordered 3 copies of this cd thinking it was the real Hanson....Ike, Tay, and Zac. Unfortunately I received CDs with really weird music on it. Hanson fans beware! This is not their music or anything from their upcoming cd in May 2000. So don't be fooled by the fake "Taylor" who wrote the review above....I think it is sad that people would pretend to be Hanson in order to sell copies of their own cd......-1000 stars to you!

Hanson fans beware! Did I get the same CD as these other people who say the CD is wonderful? I ordered this CD and when it came, I was incredibly disappointed. Everything on the web seems to imply that the CD is actually by HANSON! Well, itz not! It is a terrible CD with sleep inducing techno-style music. It is NOT the same Hanson that I saw on the Albertane Tour in '98, and unless the three Hansons got really old, and lost their musical touch very quickly, this is NOT them! So if you are looking for a CD by Isaac, Taylor, and Zac Hanson from Tulsa, keep looking cuz this is not it!

Umm, do these people know history., March 24, 2003
This review is from: Hungry for Your Love (Audio CD)
This is the pivotal cut from the short career of the underground club of the 1980's group "Hanson & Davis" who were originally on the Fresh Records label (FRE-5-EP)--hence this re-release being on Warlock's Classics label (Warlock owns the rights to many Fresh/Sleeping Bag titles). The fact that Hanson fans who posted here actually mistook this group for the irreverent bubblegum pop group from the late 1990's does not say much for the literacy of the Hanson generation.
"Hungry For Your Love" was Hanson & Davis' most popular cut from this group in the late 1980's. The labelmates of club acts such as Nocera and Joyce Sims [Sleeping Bag], electro hip-hoppers Mantronix [Sleeping Bag], as well as rappers EPMD, T La Rock and Just-Ice [Fresh], Hanson & Davis enjoyed much urban radio airplay and club rotation in the US and UK, as well as earning respect from the hip-hop crowd. Hanson & Davis were the musical peers of Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam, The Miami Sound Machine, Mel & Kim, Colonel Abrams and other dance/club groups of the mid- to late 1980's.
Unfortunately, with the exception of EPMD (who moved to Def Jam) and Mantronix (who moved to Capitol), Hanson & Davis, like most Fresh/Sleeping Bag artists, having few chart topping hits had a short-lived career. Underground fame does not a lasting career make.
Any fan of 1980's urban dance and underground club music should be happy to add this club classic to their collection. As for Hanson fans who think this is a rip-off re-release: please learn some pop music history if you are going to critique a release that pre-dates your birth.
