Dan's story is the BEST yet!,
This review is from: Hunt Her Down (Bullet Catchers) (Kindle Edition)
I'm a huge fan of the Bullet Catcher series, having read each book in it twice, and I can honestly say this was my number one favorite so far. We finally get Dan Gallagher's story, after all this time of wondering if he would find true love with his boss, Lucy Sharpe. He didn't, and after I read this book, I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out.
In this story, Dan goes off to find Maggie, a woman he once knew when he was working as an undercover FBI agent because the drug lord she helped put away is out of jail. He just wants to be sure she's okay, certain she'll never recognize him because he'd had a very thorough cover fourteen years earlier when they were intimate - plus, she thinks that guy "Michael Scott" is dead. But nothing in Maggie's life is what he expects it to be, and some of the most fun in the whole book is when Dan discovers Maggie is the one with the real life-changing secret. Before long, they have to face the truth (and I really liked that St. Claire didn't drag it out to the end - in fact I loved the way Maggie found out) and some really bad guys are after them for something Maggie has unwittingly kept over the years. They have to figure out a very complex puzzles to find a missing fortune and save their lives. Their attraction is fantastic, some of THE best sexual tension I have ever read. Dan is funny and tough and sexy and Maggie is one of the strongest, smartest heroines without taking over everything. Their past is ugly and dark, and they've both changed so much since they knew each other, but their final declaration of love is completely believable. I give this one the highest recommendation - I'm already reading it again while I wait for the next one that comes out in a month. (That Bullet Catcher, Con, is introduced in this book and looks like he'll be just as much fun.)

One of my favorite books...,

When I thought Roxanne St. Claire couldn't do any better than Now You Die, because it's the perfect book, she *did* it. Believe it or not, Hunt Her Down is even better. It's the best of the Bullet Catchers series. The story is intriguing, the characters are interesting, the suspense builds up to the last minute.
And... it's absolutely HILARIOUS. I laughed out loud so many times reading this book, like I hadn't in the longest time. In fact, one of my favorite book lines EVER is within these pages (so, you better pick it up and read NOW). St. Claire built up the atmosphere for Dan's book from the start, and she didn't let the readers down. She nailed it. Absolutely. Got it as good as it gets. This is the kind of book you can't put down until you're done, then, you just want to pick it up and read it again. Everyone should read it. Seriously! :)

Hunt Her Down- A Joyfully Recommended Title,
This review is from: Hunt Her Down (Bullet Catchers) (Mass Market Paperback)
Fourteen years ago, young Maggie Varcek was madly in love with Michael Scott. Until the night he was killed in an FBI drug raid. Devastated by his loss and realizing she'd aided in the bust, however unwittingly, Maggie flees into the night, very alone and carrying secrets with her, in more ways than one.
Former FBI agent Dan Gallagher, once undercover as Michael Scott, is now a Bullet Catcher. When he hears that Ramon Jimenez is now out of jail, he wants to check on Maggie, the woman he once loved. He doesn't plan on letting her know who he is, but he wants to make sure she's all right. All that changes when he sees Maggie and realizes his feelings for her are still there. Then things begin to happen that let Dan know he was right about Ramon being bent on revenge against Maggie. Ramon wants something Maggie has, and Dan is determined to keep her safe. Maggie's not sure what to feel when she realizes the man she knew as Michael Scott is alive and well. But the feelings she had ran deep, and despite her anger they share a very special bond. She's determined not to let him back into her heart, but some things don't work out as planned. Can Maggie and Dan overcome fourteen years of separation, and numerous secrets and deceptions, to keep all they hold dear safe, all the while losing their hearts to each other all over again? Hunt Her Down continues the Bullet Catcher tradition of fantastic suspense and incredible romance. Dan Gallagher has fascinated me from the first Bullet Catcher novel, and that fascination was ramped up in this book. I absolutely loved watching him and Maggie reconnect. His protective instincts melted my heart. Maggie, a strong-willed woman who has overcome much in her life to be successful, is the perfect foil for the perfect hero. Roxanne St. Claire does marvelous research and brings exotic settings to life. If you enjoy romantic suspense you will be enamored by the Bullet Catcher series. Each one builds on the last and is full of tension, of both the romantic and dangerous type. I highly recommend the Bullet Catchers, especially Hunt Her Down. It is a Joyfully Recommended title for me that will sit on my keeper shelf to be taken down and reread several times. Amelia Reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed

This Bullet Catchers story delivers in every way possible!,

This review is from: Hunt Her Down (Bullet Catchers) (Mass Market Paperback)
With perilously risky danger entwined with fervently passionate emotions, there is hardly a moment in HUNT HER DOWN when the pace slows down enough for you to catch your breath. Whether this is the first time you have met Dan Gallagher or a delightful revisit, you will devour his enthrallingly suspenseful story which features a spirited woman from his past. The latest Bullet Catchers book by the creative Roxanne St. Claire has perilous threats at every turn and sky-high sexual tension ready to ignite with the slightest spark of responsive awareness.
At eighteen, Maggie Varcek made some mistakes, especially the one where she took up with Ramon Jimenez whose family turned out to be extremely dangerous because of illegal dealings. The one bright spot in her life was the secret relationship with a man employed by the lawbreakers, until the night a FBI drug raid revealed him to be an agent, one who completely betrayed her trust. Although it has been fourteen years since Dan Gallagher "died" during the successful bust, the current Bullet Catcher agent still remembers the woman who unintentionally helped the FBI by giving him information during their hidden affair. With the drug dealer and his equally ruthless father newly released from prison, Dan is worried they may want payback. So he goes to Florida to inform Maggie so she can be cautious, but not let her learn his actual identity as his undercover look was much different. When Dan checks out Maggie at the bar she runs, he likes the woman he discovers even more than her younger self whom he knew years ago. She is also attracted to him, and flirtatious banter is shared. Regretfully, the sparks quickly die when she learns his true identity, and she lets him know his help in not needed. When the past once again threatens Maggie because of some unknown mystery tied to her, Dan must convince her to let him handle things or those in her new life may not be safe from the goals of determined criminals. Heart-stopping and fierily sensuous describe the romantic suspense stories by Roxanne St. Claire. There is always an innovative mix of gripping danger and steamy romance all thorough her books, where uncertainties are frequently the only predominant factor. Mysteries are definitely plentiful in HUNT HER DOWN, and their revelations are repeatedly surprising. These unexpected truths sometimes completely change the direction of the story, and the reader is left even more doubtful about the future of beloved characters. As one comes to know Dan and Maggie intimately, both their hopes and apprehensions, their having a lasting relationship becomes especially imperative. With their every inner feeling being so clearly depicted, one can also sense these almost tangible sentiments. If the moment is fueled by their potent sexual attraction, the scene sizzles with enough blazingly overwhelming heat to spike your own pulse. With some deeply troubling past issues to overcome, this couple has some difficult paths from which to choose and their final decisions are the result of much soul-searching. All of the characters in this book are some of the most genuinely portrayed individuals I have read lately, as their personalities are shown with distinctive traits, some easily admired and others totally abhorred. The conversations are also exceptionally realistic, particularly those between Dan and a fellow male Bullet Catcher, where I was left smiling from their validity. The setting for the following book in this compelling series is carefully laid, and I cannot wait! HUNT HER DOWN is an adventure of the heart filled with dangerous escapades and passionate encounters. SingleTitles review

best bullet catcher,
This review is from: Hunt Her Down (Bullet Catchers) (Mass Market Paperback)
For me this was the best Bullet Catcher yet. I was lucky enough to snag this in the stores yesterday and read it in one sitting. AWESOME. Dan Gallagher's story takes place right when Lucy's story ends. Max is trying to make sure that Dan is alright and Dan states he is going to check on an old case from 14 years ago. Well turns out the old case involves a woman that captured his heart from when he worked for the FBI. The initial attraction between Maggie and Dan is off the meter. Maybe a bit much considering she doesnt remember/know who he is but all the same its HOT. Without giving away too much Dan is helping to keep Maggie safe from the bad guys involved in the old case(one is newly released from prison and wants to settle the score with Maggie) and we get a couple sneak peeks of Max, Cori and adorable baby Peyton and then we also get Lucy arriving on the scene to help work the case. The plot is simple but St Claire keeps you engaged with the characters and watching as they rediscover a love that never fully went away. We are also given some intereaction with a new character Constantine Xenakis(sp) WHEW!!!!. Cant wait for that story. This book is a real winner and Bullet Catcher fans will not be disappointed with this latest installment. Hope everyone Enjoys Dan and Maggie's story as much as I did

Ramon Jimenez is out of prison, bringing back memories Bullet Catcher Dan Gallagher had pushed away. Fourteen years earlier, he'd been undercover with the FBI and broken the heart of Maggie Varcek. She thinks he died that day in his persona of Michael Scott and has forged a new life for herself. But will she forgive Dan enough to allow him to protect her when the past comes back to haunt them both?
Who hasn't been waiting for Dan's book?!? Dan is a Bullet Catcher who more than deserves his happily-ever-after! His close relationship to his boss, Lucy Sharpe, has left him at loose ends as Lucy has found her soul mate and it's hard not to feel hurt for him. However, Roxanne St. Claire has crafted the perfect storyline for him, one that is sure to tug on readers' heartstrings. HUNT HER DOWN is easily read as a stand alone. While the complexity of Dan's relationship with Lucy may not be readily apparent to newcomers, Roxanne St. Claire provides enough backstory for those unfamiliar with his history with the Bullet Catchers. However, I would suspect that anyone reading HUNT HER DOWN is going to rush to pick up copies of the earlier books as this is one spectacular series! Maggie is also a phenomenal heroine. Her inner strength is remarkable as she has faced so many obstacles in her life. One can't help but admire how she keeps getting back on her feet and striving to do the right thing. She is truly a lady who has learned from her past. HUNT HER DOWN is yet another impressive book in a series that only continues to shine, book after book. Roxanne St. Claire has crafted one of those rare series with the Bullet Catchers in which each book is a gem. Highly recommended! COURTESY OF CK2S KWIPS AND KRITIQUES

hero tolerates heroine,

Sexy widowed heroine is shocked to find out that the guy she met at her bar & who she almost had a 1-night-stand with is her supposedly-dead lover from the past, when she was involved with her mafia-type boyfriend. She felt betrayed when she realized that he was working undercover for FBI when they were have their secret affair & never got to tell him that she got pregnant with his son. Fourteen years later, she's not sure if he's only sexually involved with her or if there's more to their relationship this time. Instead of trying to use her to get to the bad guys, this time he's protecting her from her ex-boyfriend who's now out of prison & his vengeful family.
St. Claire's writing is good. Pacing & emotional pull were good. Action-suspense was ok, although predictable. Sexual chemistry & love scenes were hot. I just wasn't convinced about the romance on the hero's part. Heroine was both in lust & in love with hero, when she was younger & when they reunited. On the other hand, hero was clearly in lust with heroine. But in love? Not sure. There's some inconsistencies in hero's feelings towards heroine. Hero seemed to have forgetten about heroine after their undercover operation was finished. He didn't try to call her or even check up on her in all those years. When she asked him if he would've married her then, he responded with a quick & resounding "no". Yet later he confessed to being in love with heroine during their secret affair. So he was in love with her but didn't want to marry her? Hmmm. When they were reunited, hero was definitely hot for the heroine but only began to show emotional interest in her when he found out about their son. She seemed only to be an afterthought to him. Recommended but iffy about the hero's love for heroine.

This is my favorite kind of Bullet Catcher book -- compelling characters, dangerous situations, some humor mixed in, and the edgy, fast-paced writing style I like so much from St. Claire (but which can be hit or miss in some of the Bullet Catcher books). I must have missed a book in the series, though, because I didn't know the question of a Lucy-Dan connection had been resolved. Guess I'll have to hunt down that book and read it. I loved how St. Claire used Maggie's bracelets as a 'signal' for the two main characters. It works perfectly as a device to show the long history/connection between the two and as a tactical device. Very neat twist. As is the valuable 'key' that Maggie holds, not knowing its significance, or that it's only part of the whole (don't want to say much more and spoil the story). Very well done.

Hot, fast and sexy. A little slow starting, but the action picked up as always with her books. Worth the read.
