5.0 out of 5 stars Me Myself I Love It
I have had the Hunt For Red October for a long time. Its from the movie of the same name which I do not remeber a thing because I was small when I saw it. The only thing I remeber about the movie is that it starred Sean Connery. You are in a submarine and you fight off other submarines with torpedoes or mines in its path. You also have surface air missiles which fires straight up from Red October's missile bays which you can use agaist planes or boats. You have a weapon called Electronic Counter Measures and the device floats in front of the ship when released and causes enemy ship to cease firing for a short time.
And you have other weapons just to name 2 or 3. The graphics are very nice and the controls are awsome plus you can use the super scope if you have it. I will tell you what the first mission is but thats all because I do not want to spoil the game by telling you all the misions. Mission one is that you are Soviet Captain Marko Ramius and the year is 1984 and you disillusioned with your homeland and its goverment, you have decided to take your prototype submarine' the Red october and defect to the United States. Thats I am telling you because Alot of people like me love surpises. For other missions it tells you in the intruction booklet all the missions so you know what they are about and their are people who have seen the movie but never played the game. All in all its a great game and I still got my old SNES and this game. Thanks. have a super year!!!!

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Hunt For Red October (Video Game)
The Hunt for Red October was Tom Clancy's first novel and first movie. The games made to be based on it were ported onto three Nintendo systems of the early 90's. Of course you know what three systems were around then but if you were trapped on a deserted island, here they are: Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, and Nintendo Game Boy. The SNES version was the worst. Like Splinter Cell GBA, you fight in 2-D but instead you drive a submarine. You can use stealth tactics including silent running. The second part to it is after shooting and bombing, you will hit a first person sequence where you must destroy enemy craft. It is very hard without the pricey and useless Super Scope. Just don't buy this game if you know what's good fer ya!
