This was a replacement fan in an RV. Compared to the original, this fan is much more stout, quieter, and moves more air. Instructions were easy to follow, and allowed for three mounting options; tight to ceiling, straight hang, hang from an angled ceiling. A minor problem, that didn't prevent completion of the installation, was that one of the holes in the switch housing was punched incorrectly causing it to sit at an angle. A phone call to Hunter had a new housing on its way, no hassles. While the fan is easy to install for the average do-it-yourselfer, it does require some knowledge of electrical wiring, and some ladder time, thus it may not be a job that everyone would want to tackle.

We had our new Hunter Bayport 42" fan installed by an electrician (since we are DIY-challenged) to replace a ceiling fan that was in the house when we bought it. The fan is in the breakfast nook and it cools the whole kitchen. We really like having the wall rheostat so we can adjust the fan speed without having to pull the chain. The only small drawback is the rosewood/oak blades don't match the kitchen, so I'm going to take the blades off and paint them to match the woodwork. We had searched several websites to find Hunter antique brass (to match 2 existing antique brass fans in the living area) and were very pleased to find what we wanted at a great price on Amazon.
