I had the hardest time finding a modern ceiling fan in a cream color.. all I could find was white. When I found this model on Amazon I ordered it right away. Not only is it functional (supplies a nice cool breeze on warm nites) it is so very pretty. The lamp diffuses the lite and the blades cast a romantic shadow on the ceiling. I also ordered a compatible remote to go with it. Its quiet and has a dimmer. It was worth the price.

Having installed many ceiling fans, I just opened the box up, and started putting it up. I never thought to check if all the parts were there, and perhaps that was my fault. However, after installing the fan, and getting ready to attach the pull chains, I noticed the chains were not in the box. This was also the time that I noticed the finial and the plate to hold the light cover up were also missing. Having it already installed and working on the ceiling, we decided not to take it back down, pack it up and send it back. We figured we would call the 800 number on the instructions that says to call if you have any missing pieces. This was our biggest mistake, we should've just returned the whole thing. Upon calling, and after being on hold for 45 minutes, an operator answered who was very rude and implying it was our fault the pieces were missing and stated that the parts were out of stock, and wouldn't be available for 2 months.

2 months came and went, another call, 30 more minutes on hold... Another rude operator, another 2 months for the parts. We asked to talk to the supervisor, who of course wasn't in. We were told that if we left a voice mail, he would call back. We never heard from them again. 2 months later, a package did arrive from them, there was a finial inside, but no pull chain nor the plate to hold the light cover on.

To make a long story short, it took 6 phone calls, all with excessive hold times. We left 4 messages for the supervisor, as they were never in the office. Never did they call back. 8 months after the initial purchase, the plate to hold the light cover on finally arrived. We never received the pull chain, and gave up on it. Pull chains are easy to find.

We initially decided on Hunter due to their outstanding reputation, I have no qualms about the fan itself. It is indeed an outstanding product. If they could get their customer service in line with their products, they'd be a hit. The fan did come with a balancing kit, I've never seen that in cheaper fans, but I didn't want to balance it until all the parts were installed, so we had a wobbling fan with no light cover for 8 months.

We'll be replacing 6 more ceiling fans over the next year, and the Hunter brand will not even be considered.

Bottom line; Ensure all parts are in the box before installation, if not, send it back. Don't call the 800 number for missing parts.
