Great fan with one large design flaw,

Overall, this is a fantastic, high-quality fan. It's whisper-quiet, easy-to-assemble, sturdy and great-looking. I'm very pleased with it.
The flaw it has is that the fan speed chain emanates horizontally from the fan unlike the light chain which emanates vertically from the fan body. The result is that you're pulling downwards on a chain (fan speed) that comes out of the fan horizontally. This results in a ton of resistance due to the effective 90 degree angle at which you are pulling. This makes it very hard to change fan speeds - sometimes it actually doesn't work! Once, when I pulled on the fan speed chain, the amount of force I applied was enough to snap the chain off the plastic chain extender. I was able to easily put the chain back in the extender but it demonstrates just how much force is required. If Hunter simply changed its design so that the fan speed chain simply emanated from the bottom of the fan motor and not the side, this problem would not exist. I tend to leave the fan on one speed so this problem is not a deal-breaker. Overall, this is an excellent, high-quality fan.

Quiet as can be,

I have several Hunter fans and this one, like the others is completely quiet. Ours runs continuously and we cannot hear anything.

It was easy to install. It is super quiet. On low you don't even know that it is on.
