Installs in Five MinutesThe Hunter Five-Minute 52-Inch Ceiling Fan arrives 90% preassembled to save you time. An EZ Hang mounting system and Easy Lock blade make the rest of the installation process simple, so most users can get the fan up and ready in five minutes or less (additional time may be required to install the mounting plate). For added convenience, the Five-Minute Fan includes an optional 120-watt bowl light fixture (two bulbs included).

Revitalize your Home and Everyone in it
Designed for use in larger rooms, including living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, and more, the Five-Minute Fan has a rich look with five blades in an attractive New Bronze finish and a frosted bowl cover. Its powerful, efficient motor circulates the air to keep your home cooler in warmer months and warmer in cooler months, while its contemporary style blends with any decor. Operation is effortless--simply use the pull chain to select one of the three available speeds.

Savings Without Sacrifice
We all want a cleaner, greener planet, and Hunter fans like the Five-Minute Fan can help. By using this fan throughout the year, you can significantly decrease your personal energy use without sacrificing comfort.

Unlike air conditioners or portable heaters, most ceiling fans use approximately as much power as a 100-watt light bulb, and they rely on the simple process of circulating air rather than chemicals, making them an ecofriendly cooling and heating option. When run clockwise in the winter and counterclockwise in the summer, they can save you money in utility bills all year-round. At the same time, they take up less standing floor space than most conventional floor fans or air conditioners, and add style to any room.

Warranty Information
The Hunter Five-Minute 52-Inch Ceiling Fan is backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

Very elegant design, and I am very happy with the results.

The main problem was the screw holes in the "canopy" did not line up with the "ceiling plate".

I am a very handy person and it took me 1.5 hours to install the 5 minute fan.

First time installing my own ceiling fan, so I had hoped that a product called 5-minute fan would be an easy first attempt. I bought two fans for two different rooms with angled ceilings. It took me 1 hour for the first fan, and 20 minutes for the 2nd fan. I was very happy with the product in regards to cost, ease of installation, and well written instructions. I had chosen the brand hunter as a recommendation from a friend that used to own a ceiling fan store. When I told him I got the 5-minute brand, he gave me a big thumbs up on my decision. the blades are dual sided with a dark brown and light brown side which I thought was a nice touch. Very elegant design, and I am very happy with the results. Only negative thing I have is that in each of the box one of the bulbs were broken. The manufacture does offer to send a free one, but I just found it easier to go to the store and pick a couple up.

I gave this a 5 star because; its pretty, its quiet (slightest motor hum), provides sufficient air flow compared to a 44" model, it could have been installed easily (definitely read below), and they even included the bulbs. I envision 2 types of buyers. If you are electrically and mechanically adept, this will be straight forward to install (It took me 1.5 hrs to hang this unit, another 2 hrs previous to build the supports and wire the box.). If you are like the average person, and lacking in either home improvement skills, this can be self installable, but definitely read below.
Next shame on the Hunter Fan Co. for outsourcing and getting exactly what they deserve; sloppy quality that rendered this fan unusable if I did not have better than average skills as above. Did Hunter's V.P. get a bonus for this disservice to their customers?

Most of this info is in the instructions, but then that is after you make the decision to buy or not to buy. How to fix and install a Hunter fan, that can be a really nice addition to your home:
1) 2 sets of screws did not fit. To get past this, assemble the entire fan on a work bench the day before you intend to install it, as a mock up, and find the places where sloppy quality control will force you to go to the hardware store for fastners. Segueing to (2).
2) To configure the fan in "low profile", the 3 screws provided (#8-32 x 3/4) had too large of heads to fit the profile washer. I had some smaller head screws, but you may have to buy replacements.
3) The tapered head screws, to fasten the light assembly, did not fit the sloppy over sized threads on the fan motor base unit.

The fan arrived undamaged and in good shape. I took down the old fan, and then allotted about an hour to hang the new one. Let's just say that an hour wasn't enough. I finally called in a friend to help, and two hours later we had it all done. (Life would have been easier if the house builder had installed a junction box!) This is not a five-minute job, at least not for me.

On the other hand, the fan works beautifully. It moves lots of air (even my friend noticed that right away), it looks great, and the motor is very quiet. We use it with a wall-mounted speed control, and it works just fine (be sure to set the fan to the highest setting first).

OK, I am a pretty adept diy-er, but it took me almost 2 hours start to finish to install this fan. Granted, if I were to do it again, it would probably take about an hour. Maybe they were talking about installing the bulbs in 5 minutes?

My observations: I purchased the 2' downrod, also made by Hunter, to go with this fan. The rod was of good quality, but they had drilled a hole through the threads at the bottom, presumably to align with the set screw on the motor housing. The drilling process left some very sharp burrs which would have cut the wiring had I not filed them down. So if you get a longer downrod, be sure to check this before threading the wiring through.

There were NO instructions on how to change from the included downrod to the longer downrod, but it only took a few minutes to figure it out. Remove the large headed screw in the top of the ball unit, which will release the rod. Remove the ground screw and ground, and pin. Then slide the ball assembly and plastic sleeve off the old rod and onto the new rod. Put the pin in. Be sure to check the alignment of the grounding wire with the plastic sleeve. There are two holes the ground screw can go into, but only one aligns properly with the pin. Of course I put it in the wrong one at first. Once you get everything aligned, then replace the screw at the top.

Attaching the support to the ceiling was different for me because I knew we were putting a fan in this room when we built the house, so I installed a special fan-rated junction box. Very beefy. The two screws that came with it fit nicely through the support slots using the washers supplied.

The instructions have you screw the downrod to the motor assembly, then hang the fan from the support.
