5.0 out of 5 stars Hunter 25582 The Studio Four-Light 52-Inch Five-Blade Ceiling Fan, Brushed Nickel with Frosted Globes
Beautiful fan/light, however the bulbs required are not the four 60W standard bulbs as the listing describes. The fan/light takes four 60W type B10 Candelabra bulbs. My one reason for purchasing this fan was because of the description of using four 60W standard bulbs. It is a beautiful fan and you can not go wrong purchasing a Hunter Fan. The light bulb description is...

3.0 out of 5 stars Does not take standard bulbs
This is a beautiful ceiling fan with lights that operates quietly and is easy to install. My only complaint is that it does not take standard A19 light bulbs. It uses the new smaller base bulbs that reduce the risk of fires in houses with shoddy electrical wiring becuase the maximum wattage on those bulbs is 60W. What does this mean? Well the amount of light this...

It uses the new smaller base bulbs that reduce the risk of fires in houses with shoddy electrical wiring becuase the maximum wattage on those bulbs is 60W. What does this mean? Well the amount of light this ceiling fan puts out is not as high as I would like. Sure it is supposedly a little safer but with my older ceiling fans that do take a standard bulb, I am able to use 100W replacement flourescent bulbs that only use 20W power. These provide the level of light that I want while saving energy and reducing the risk of fire.

5.0 out of 5 stars HUNT FOR A HUNTER - IT'S WORTH IT!!, August 3, 2009

Hunter Fans stand totally apart from other brands. I don't know what makes them so much better, quiet, balanced, stylish, reasonably priced, but they are. I've purchased them for years and there is no comparison in performance and installation. I just purchased two of these and am highly pleased! If you want a good fan, buy a Hunter!

I have this fan in my kitchen and my living room. It works quietly, and cools nicely, and looks great. It's a couple years now I bought them, or there about, and they are still working great. All around great value.

I don't really like the look of overhead fans, but our kitchen really needed one in order to be tolerable during the summer. This fan is about as nice as they get and fits in surprisingly well with my Victorian-esque kitchen. The blades are cherry on one side and dark oak on the other, so you can choose which color will show. I chose the cherry and attached an extender pole to it for my high ceiling, and it looks great. It runs perfectly, was easy to install and has given us no problems. No, it doesn't take regular bulbs but the bulbs it does take are readily available. Don't worry about the light being too dim, either. There are four bulbs on this light fixture and it makes my large, tall-ceiling'ed room very bright.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Quality, Quiet, Long-Lasting - Watch Bulb Size!, March 23, 2011

We recently moved into a different home that needed a complete overhaul. We replaced all of the lighting in the home and have learned from experience that Hunter ceiling fans are the way to go! These fans are aesthetically pleasing, operate quietly, and are long-lasting. We installed similar Hunter ceiling fans in all of the rooms of our previous home. When we moved out of this home 6 years later, the fans looked and sounded just like they did when we first installed them.

Watch out for your light bulb size, though. Our previous Hunter ceiling fans had fittings for a regular sized light bulb. HOWEVER, the newest Hunter ceiling fans (and this particular fan) require the chandelier light bulbs. This got a little costly with the energy efficient chandelier bulbs, but the regular incandescent chandelier bulbs are much cheaper if you are not going the energy efficient route. This isn't really a problem, but I was expecting the fan to use regular sized light bulbs simply because all of our previous Hunter fans were that way.

We bought 3 of these fans for our great room and they REALLY helped to update the room. They matched our appliances, and SUPER quiet and really move the air...everything you really want in a fan. My husband had a pretty easy time getting them up. They had a lot of safety features to prevent the fan from falling as he was putting it up and as it stays there. A great investment for our house!

I'm very happy with this fan/light. I had it installed in a bedroom to replace a regular ceiling fixture. gives much more light and looks great. I had it installed by a pro (he also charged like a pro) The arrival time was great, well packaged, no breakage or damage.
