Designed for large rooms up to 19 by 21 feet, this air purifier changes the air up to six times per hour and provides a CADR of 260 for smoke, 260 for dust, and 260 for pollen. Its effective three-speed whisper-quiet fan draws air into the unit without excessive noise, and exhausts clean, purified air back into the room from the top of the unit to avoid stirring up settled particles. The purifier also comes equipped with a permanently charged HEPAtech filter that effectively captures 99.97-percent of all airborne particles as small as 0.1 microns in size that pass through the filter. A separately controlled ionizer distributes negative ions throughout the room to enhance the cleaning process.
For 30-percent better odor reduction, the unit's separate carbon prefilter reduces cooking, tobacco, and pet odors while also capturing larger dust particles, lint, and pet hair from dirty air. Other details include an Energy Star rating, electronic controls, and a digital LCD screen that shows the cleaning level and remaining filter life. Even more, the unit's space-saving slim-line styling fits flush against the wall, so it won't encroach on living areas or interfere with household activities. Replacement filters include a 30901 prefilter and a 30931 HEPA filter. The air purifier measures approximately 17 by 10 by 25 inches and carries a five-year limited warranty.

Good filtration but fan whined,

The first one I bought had two problems: the clock did not work and the fan had an annoying whine. I swapped it for another. The second one also whined, and, at higher speeds, the whine became intolerable. I gave up and returned it as well.
On the plus side, it seemed to do a good job filtering the air.

This air filter works really well. The real cost is in the filter cartridges so pay attention to that when you shop for an air filter. I keep this in my room to alleviate my allergies from dust and vog (volcanic pollution) and both the prefilter and the hepa filter show that the system is working. My house smells really neutral when you walk in from outside. But walking into my room where the air filter is placed, the room smells way better, totally different and fresher, especially when we put new filters in. Even my kids noticed that when we first started running it. I like this filter. It would be nice if it fit some standard sized air filters though.
