This is a review for the product I received from Bulkfilter.com, not the actual Hunter 30901 product which I would rate at five stars.

It didn't come in the Hunter box, which made me suspicious. Opening it, I found the weave much tighter than the Hunter product. This will reduce air flow. It is also thinner than the Hunter product, which will offset that slightly. The Hunter product makes little crumbs of activated charcoal, which this one does not, making it questionable whether it is an activated charcoal filter for odor control.

If they are selling a generic filter, they should note that and people can choose whether they want that or the Hunter product. They shouldn't call it a Hunter 30901, because it isn't.

I'm not sure that the "5-star reviewers" actually ordered this item. When compared to the original filter which came with the unit, it is MUCH thinner and flimsy. Also, there is NO way to get two filters out of this. It is too small. after cutting out one, there is less than 1/2 of the sized needed to make another. Do yourself a favor and order an original carbon pre-filter. I'm tossing this one and looking for the reall thing.

I bought this to eventually replace the original pre filter in my Hunter Hepa air filter. I think this is a great idea in that it extends the life of the more expensive Hepa Filter in my Hunter 30124. It holds up well to rinsing out with water. I noticed it really does a great job grabbing the larger airborne particals.

I like the Hunter series of HEPA air filters - there is a noticible decrease in the amount of dust in my home, and it allows me to stretch the length of time between vacumming. The pre-filter can vacuumed out, rather than replaced, which lengthens the lifespan. The nature of the filter material in the true HEPA media, however, doesn't lend itself to vacuuming, so be prepared to pay for replacements as indicated.

I used to buy the pre filters from Hunter and thought it was a bit unusual to have to cut the filter media to fit my filter. After discovering this filter media from Bulkfilter, I placed my order. Shipping was fast. Looks like the exact same material. Yes, I had to cut it to fit which is easy using scissors. I get two filters from one piece of material. I am pleased with my purchase, and would order this again. I have a Hunter Permalife Model 30756.

The box includes a mat of the air filter media large enough to cut at least six replacement filters for my particular unit. Unfortunately, it does not include a template but recommended you use the dirty one in your unit for fit. This, of course, leaves dirt on the new filter as well as your table, scissors, and person. Not the most convenient. I would be glad to pay a couple extra dollars if Hunter would first, precut them to my specific size, and second, let people know they will get more than one filter from this box. The price is a bit alarming until you realize it's more than one replacement filter and quite the value when you get six. Overall, I am happy with my Hunter air purifier and the ease of replacement. Yes, yes, I used the new clean filter as a template for cutting the remaining filter media!

Best place to buy. Don't go to HSN or one of those, they are sky high.

The Hunter 30901 Replacement Pre-Filter for the HEPAtech Quiet Flo Air Purifier is one of the best on the market. Use exclusively in our office building with the Hunter 30940 Replacement Filter which works well for reducing our mold contaminants.

I received genuine Hunter pre-filters purchased from Amazon. Someone reviewed they didn't receive Hunter filters and it was thinner than the original. That was not the case with my order, maybe they ordered from one of the third party sellers... These are thick. The package say it's enough for at least 2 filters, you trim to fit. Surprise for my model which is a tower vs the box type, there are two 1/3 pieces left after cutting 2 filters, meaning after the 3rd change I'll have enough to easily piece together a full filter. It was interesting to note that the air was noticeably fresher after about the first hour, in the same way that was noticed when I first got the purifier. I wasn't completely convinced about the odor fighting claims with these carbon filters but the freshness was very noticeable after the change. This was my first pre-filter change and the old was covered in thick dust/crap. Kind of interesting to see THAT much stuff is floating in the air. I was a couple days past the change indicator on the purifier, and it was definitely ready to be changed. I went with Amazon's 4 for 3 deal, so I'm stocked up for awhile.

Within a few weeks, the pre-filter was so dusty and dirty from capturing all of the floating stuff in my apartment - I thought it was great!

I almost ordered 2 of these but I am glad I didn't. It comes as one giant pre-filter so that you can cut it to size. I can easily get 2 pre-filters out of this sheet. Ordering one should last you a very long time.
