Want proof of how well the filter works? Check out the image I uploaded under "customer images." The awful gunk that clogs this filter by the time I change it proves that it's protecting my asthmatic child. It also proves that it's a good thing these filters come in two-packs. You've gotta stay on top of these machines or their effectiveness is drastically reduced by clogged and filthy filters.

By the way, my machine is a Hunter 30714. I don't know why that model's not listed as one of the ones that takes this filter, but I checked, and this is the correct replacement filter. It fits perfectly into the machine. It's well worth the money when you look at what's stuck to the filters... if it weren't in there, it'd be in your lungs. And you can't, as of yet, order replacement lungs on Amazon.

When I received this item it came wrapped in cellophane and fit neatly into my Hunter air purifier. Works great!

It says 99% and I believe it. It works well, but you have to understand that as the efficency of the filter rises, the speed it goes through the machines is slower. So excellent filtering ability.. low volume on the air. IF.. if you put this filtering unit in an old persons bedroom and just keep it running, it would be ideal. It would decidedly have a positive effect for folks who have pneumonia in the winter.

This little machine does the job. Just to list the cons, on high it is loud, yet my husband an I love it to sleep by. Second, the filters for this air machine is on the pricey side. But the dirt you see on it is worth th price. We are pretty well satisfied, after having it for 5 months.

When I read the reviews, someone posted that you get a two pack for this price. Not so. You only get one. Although it is a perfect fit for my Hunter 30711, it is way to expensive. I could have gotten a 2-pack from another company for $37 + S/H. I am very disappointed. FYI : Don't believe everything you read!

This works for sure, but the reason why I am giving it a 3 stars ONLY is because of the price. Hoping they lower it in the low $20s instead of mid-$30s. Rip-off, I think. Who would want to spend $35+ every 3 months?

Our little Hunter Tower is still kicking and we keep replacing the filters. They do a wonderful job. We've been able to carefully clean them a couple of times to get more use out of them but there comes a time when you just gotta spend the money and get a new one. Well worth the $$$ and an incredible difference in our little home. We have two small Towers for bedrooms and a large room tower for our tv area. Great product.
