Quiet, yet powerful,

This review is from: Hunter H82033 Ultra Quiet White Bathroom Fan (Misc.)
I installed this fan on the ceiling of our upstairs den where we suffer over 85F temperatures in summer time partially because of 4 PCs installed including 2 servers. The room's window must be able to close completely as it has a security sensor so that we cannot install an AC, an we do not have or want a central AC. So, I looked for a nice powerful bathroom fan instead to use it as a mini whole-house fan.
The Hunter H82033 was as easy to install as any other bathroom fans. One exception is that it uses a 6" duct where most similar fans use 4" (or 3"). Just cut a square hole on the ceiling drywall board and install the unit from attic. It is so quiet that I have to stay a bit still to identify its operation where the moderate PC fan noise exist. I do not have official temperature numbers, but it seems to be doing its intended job. I used "LuxPro LV3 Line Voltage Thermostat, Cool Only" for controlling the fan for high temperatures.

We selected this fan for our bathroom remodel. Our contractor installed it. We are very happy with it. This fan is quiet (only 1.5 sones) and evacuates a lot of air. Our vanity mirrors still fog up a bit but are clear within a minute after the shower is turned off. The only downside to this volume level is that it is easy to leave on when you leave the bathroom. I would not say it is the best looking fan I have ever seen but it is acceptable and its functionality is excellent. I would purchase this fan again should we ever be insane enough to remodel our other bathroom.
