About the Author

Yoshihiro Togashi's manga career began in 1986 at the age of 20, when he won the coveted Osamu Tezuka Award for new manga artists. He debuted in the Japanese Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1989 with the romantic comedy Tende Shôwaru Cupid. From 1990 to 1994 he wrote and drew the hit manga YuYu Hakusho, which was followed by the dark comedy science-fiction series Level E and the adventure series Hunter x Hunter. Hunter X Hunter (simply pronounced "Hunter Hunter") is one of the greatest manga ever created. The series is fresh and original, with characters that readers will remember for a long time after they finish one of the volumes. Brilliant. Read it now!

This is probably one of the best mangas ever written... It's fun, dark, sometimes complicated, well thought out, it's not another title in the genre(shonen). It's very original, and most of all unpredictable. I've read the manga online, twice, and now I'm buying the books because I think, and this is a personal view, it's the only manga worth buying.

This is a great series, and this volume gets into the good part of the Hunter exam, where every character gets to face interesting challenges in trick tower, which is a great way for these amazing characters to be introduced while having a great time reading.

Round three is gone and we're on to four thankfully. I was finding test three a bit tiresome at the end but four is much more fun! Really, was there anyone else who Gon could have gone against? This sets us up for a future confrontation as well.

It's ironic that the third volume of "Hunter x Hunter" is subtitled "Resolution," since Togashi wraps up one part of the exam only to thrust the characters into another. Regardless, it's more good reading.
