No hunter gets 100% on doves. They're fast and erratic. They're a fantastic game bird that is very common from coast to coast. "A Hunter's Guide to Mourning Doves" covers the mourning dove's habits and traits, and gives the information needed to become a successful dove hunter. The author, Bob Conrad, has studied doves and the hunting techniques needed to bag them for years. He has boiled down his mourning dove knowledge into this comprehensive 28-page work of no-nonsense methods and techniques. None of the reviewers actually talked about the contents or value of the book. I don't care whether they are for or against hunting. Either read and rate the book or shut up.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wild bird hunting is a fair and grand sport, July 26, 2004

As a kid I loved to hunt all sorts of wild fowl. From quail, geese, ducks and doves, I was truly an avid hunter. In addition to loving the sport, I enjoyed eating most everything I shot. I will say that shooting a darting dove was nearly as challenging as pulling down a mallard duck in full flight. As long as birds are flying, and not sitting or walking on the ground, I see nothing wrong with hunting. Hunting grew out of necessity, and as long as it is properly regulated, I see it as a great sport. (No different than fishing) As for myself, I
don't care to kill anything now days, but certainly support the right for all those who continue to enjoy wild bird hunting.
